Lightweight and very easy to clean. These are better than using sand any day. My water has stayed so clear with very little maintenance. Easy to put in the filter and I dump them directly into my washing machine. I also use a few of these in my re-chargeable pool vacuum in the filter area, works better than anything I have tried for that as well.

These are amazing. We just replaced our very old sand filter and decided to try these instead of sand. Had never heard of them before but are very pleased so far.Much easier to deal with than sand. The pool is always crystal clear! We gave only had them a few months so we will see how well they last. You’re supposed to be able to wash them and reuse them. We will see!

Can't believe I didn't try these sooner...here's the bottom line: they filter better than sand, AND they don't restrict the flow as much (which means you get more water circulation, which means EVEN better filtration of your pool water). They are also ridiculously light, like it feels like nothing is in your filter. To top it all off, you don't really need to backwash them that often. If you're still using sand...why?Now there are other options that also filter better than sand, but I'm pretty sure you'll find that most or all of them also increase restriction/pressure drop (which means reduced flow).

These balls? These are amazing balls. I never had balls before and did not know exactly how much I was missing. These balls keep my pool clean and sparkling. They come in such a nice quantity which is reassuring. If my balls deteriorate I can pop some new balls in no problem and keep my ball quota on par. If you are still using cartridge filters get some balls instead.

I just replaced my sand filter for my pool, and when I ordered it I saw these crazy things. After lugging a 50# bag of sand for my last filter I thought I would give these a try. The price is really inexpensive, they had great reviews, and I wouldn't have to go to the chiropractor if they worked like they said. Since the package says to not backwash for 90 days after installing them I vacuumed and skimmed the pool very well before trying them, and they seem to be working great. I run the filter for about an hour a day and the water is still clear and beautiful.

Thought they would work better

These were really cool. First time pool owner and I liked the ease of these.

These have been a nightmare. No matter what I do my pool remains very cloudy, which I rarely had when using sand. Plus, I just used some clarfier to clear it up. I've spent over a month trying to fix this issue with the balls to no avail. I'm ordering sand today and switching back.
