Stihl 56057504306 File Holder 2-in-1 for 1/4 Inch Saw Chains for Quick Sharpening of Tooth and Depth Limiter in One Operation

What a great invention. I used to do tree work for part-time work and I had about 8 different sized chainsaws. I sharpened my own chains just using a single file with a small guide. I'm down to two saws (Stihl battery electric - love them!), and with these new guides with built in files, with a few swipes I sharpen the teeth and lower the depth exactly right. There is nothing worse that fighting with a dull chain or having to take a chain to someone else to be sharpened at some expense and taking more life off the chain than necessary. Just one or two passes with this sharpener is all that is needed to be back in perfect condition for the next time.

Really easy to use - I will say that I watched youtube video - easier to see it in action vs just using the written instructions. Worked great!

Works great! Sharpens well, does the rake too. Very handy and useful out in the field and quick. Just make sure you load the correct diameter files for the chain and, follow the directions. All that said I still think it costs to much for what it is.

Long lasting and quick and eay to use

Sharpener has no instructions but it’s simple enough so you should be able to figure out how it works. There are videos on You Tube you can watch. Most challenge is to determine angle to hold sharpener while dressing the chain teeth. Once you finally get comfortable with the angle to hold the sharpener the chain sharpens pretty quickly. I could tell sharpener made a difference. More practice should help keep my chains sharp and nice to use. I won’t say it is the ultimate sharpener but it is a good tool and I recommend it.

Excellent product

I grew up cutting firewood for heating in the house. I have sharpened many chains over the years.This sharpener does a great job, very quickly. Good design. Simple. Just used it this morning before cutting for hours.Glad I purchased this. Fits perfect on my 1/4" chain on a 12" bar battery Stihl saw.
