I am building an extension onto my house (self build) and I was struggling with spirit levels and tapes to get heights and dimensions accurate. This laser is very low cost compared with others in the class, yet it is a really good tool. The laser is accurate, the self levelling system works well, and the laser itself is very bright, so much so that it is visible outdoors in full sun at at least 10m (that's as far as I have gone so far). The included mag mount is ideal for attaching it to steels. There are three laser settings - crossline (vertical and horizontal beams), and either horizontal or vertical only.The self levelling system can be locked to enable you to set an angle if you want to, and my only criticism would be the lack of a graduate rotating bubble to allow the user to set an angle directly on the device, rather than having to use an external means of getting the angle right.However, for what this costs, you can't beat it - well made, and does everything that most DIYers and many professionals would need.

Upon opening the box, I was a little surprised at the size of the laser. For some reason I just assumed it would be larger. It comes in a nice little zip up storage pouch which also houses the base/mount. The laser itself is very well built. It has a good weight and feels solid, has a nice feel to it (good materials) and the laser is very clear to see! Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because I haven't had a chance to test it over time yet, not that I am doubting it will hold up. Have recommended it to several friends already and I only received it 2 days ago. Such good value for money!!

Product arrived on time.The contents of box are as described.It is supplied with four AA non-rechargeable batteries and once fitted, the unit came on and worked straight away.The pressing of the single button controls the modes of operation, single vertical, single horizontal or both.To switch it off, instructions are supplied, you have to slide the lock/unlock switch across and then the control button will switch the unit off.This unit has a pulse mode for use with a sold separately detector unit. Not needed for my usage which is likely to be indoor work.Ease of use, very simple.Will it replace a standard spirit level?For vertical drops I think it will be of great use as I only have a short 300mm spirit level which then requires using another longer straight edge.I can see it being very good for marking out around a room.It is supplied with a magnetic mount which for most DIY jobs I see little use in having. Wood and plasterboard is non-magnetic.There is also a magnetic target board , however, no idea what the purpose of that is for as yet.All fits neatly into the supplied zipped carry case.It will be put to use when I start wallpaper hanging in a few weeks time. Living the dream!The green laser shows up nice and bright indoors on an overcast autumnal afternoon.

This is a UK domestic brief review of the Huepar Box 1G. I am not an expert and i was fed up whenever I needed a level line eg hanging two or three pictures or radiators trying to sort out a level line with a short and often awkward builders level or a cheap and also equally awkward (hopeless?) 250mm laser level that I could never get level anyway. I was initially looking a a laser level without a magnetic bracket but after a bit of You Tube research found out that the supplied bracket was worth the extra because I discovered it could magnetically stick to a plain plastered corner where there is a a metal corner piece underneath the plaster corner (who thought of that??) or a door hinge-if at the correct level required- I also had an old camera tripod that fits the base which gives even more flexibility of use. Because I won’t be using this all the time, the ordinary replaceable batteries suits my needs rather than a USB battery charging set up. I’ve had dry run and check off the Box1G and it works well the self levelling feature will be a real boom for those DIY jobs. Overall it seems easy to operate and I think I can even understand the purpose of the supplied levelling card which also has a magnetic base used mostly for putting a false ceiling I understand. I probably won’t use the pulse feature but it is useful that one of the level lines can be turned off to extend battery or unit usage if required. It appears well made and should last provided the unit gimball gets locked when not in use and does not get knocked about.
