Phenomenal controller with some class leading features
Wow. I think controllers are getting really good and the Gulikit KK3 Max is among the best in its price range. I also think its true that many third-party controllers are offering more for less, particularly on the PC and Switch where there are so many good choices available.I've got a load of different controllers to compare to; Xbox One/Series, DualShock, DualSense, 8Bitdo Pro 2 & Ultimate BT and others. Tested with Nintendo Switch, Windows 11 - wired and 2.4hz and with Fedora 39 Linux. Worked flawlessly across all. Using Skull & Co Grey Thumbgrips (Xbox). Although I never got around to buying the KK2 so can't compare.Thoughts:* Lots of accessories; plastic case, USB-C flat cable, 2.4hz dongle, button puller, 3 x pair of paddles, 2 x sets of buttons (Xbox & Switch). Also included a set of thumb stick covers from the reseller (I think). The metal paddles do feel quite heavy.* Controller feels well made.* Grippy on the rear and on the triggers. However smooth on the front. Grip on the rear is very similar to the stock Xbox Series controller.* The trigger locks work well. Although there is still small travel in digital mode they do cut out a lot of the travel vs analogue mode.* On Gamepad tester site the sticks returned zero error values for the circular test* Default haptic rumble works well, although options to change this to three different modes.* Mode selection and pairing is easy enough and everything can be adjusted easily on the controller itself.* Documentation is well laid out and very useful.* Dpad is a bit mushy.* Startup sequence for the controller is great.* Paddles work well, plug in easily enough and some options on how you configure. I personally prefer buttons. I don't know how they'll hold up over time if you keep plugging and unplaugging the metal paddles into plastic all the time.* Included 2.4hz dongle means no additional cost for wireless on PC. Seems to be same input latency as wired.* Haven't had the chance to test battery life yet, or durability of the controller.* Haven't tried the built in macro mode - which seems very powerful if needed.* Firmware update is easy enough. Set the controller into USB mode and copy over a .bin file for the controller to upgrade (did this on Windows 11).Overall very, very impressed so far. You get a lot for your money. Feature wise this controller is packed. For a PC or Switch gamer it's hard not to think this is one of the best options at the moment. Would absolutely buy again.

just about good enough.
the controller itself feels good in hand, nice materials, buttons feel fine, analogue sticks nice and smooth but lack a little resistance, overall ok though. My controller had a few issues out of the box, my triggers felt different from one another, push the left one down and there is a nice soft bump stop but that is missing on the right controller. The springs underneath the triggers do not feel good either, my right trigger at times will click when i start pressing it and its clear to me its the spring slightly out of position and could probably do with being a stronger spring to retain its shape better.Im going to send a message to manufacturer to see if this is commonplace but i feel like regardless of their response (which will obviously be its not) i feel like this is just the quality we get with this controller right now and without revising the spring for the triggers it will always feel wrong in some way.besides that its a really good controller well calibrated from factory, hall effect sticks are accurate out of the box, but perhaps a little too responsive and the triggers actuate when i would expect. the technology and performance is good and that might make me just deal with the slightly cheaper feeling triggers (even though they are hall effect too).3 stars because although the price is competitive with other ''pro'' controllers i do think the price is still a bit high to be having these small issues. if the triggers felt consistent with no clicking noise now and then and if they were matched perfectly to feel the same on the bump stops i think i would have awarded it 5 stars.

Edit - Controller broke after a few months of light use.
Edit - This controller broke shortly after initially writing this review, I have sent 3 polite emails in the past 3 weeks regarding this but there has been no response at all when attempting to claim the manufacture warranty.Even tho this took a few months to break it was not due to overuse. This controller broke with less than 50 hours of actual playtime on it, it was effectively brand new.---Old review before it broke---First the pros.Construction is good, this feels premium without being overly heavy; no creaking plastic.Hall effect joysticks are firm and stay nicely in the middle (3% deadzone for me was good). The ability to lock the back triggers (and functionally make them buttons) was the main reason I bought this controller over others, it works as intended... I wish they required less travel to activate tho. The ability to change the buttons from switch configuration to xbox layout is useful if you want to play switch games as I do. I didnt notice any input lag. Its quite nice that the back paddles can be removed.Everything else is "as described" to the best of my knowledge.Neutral information. All the settings are on the controller itself, there is no PC software, everything is just done with key combinations. Though you dont get the visual feedback of PC software and it is quicker to do some things with just a couple of button presses. The battery is fine, if you turn the lights off (I will get to that) it is neither great or terrible.ConsFirst things first, the LED lights on the controller devour the battery, and I mean a lot! You get between 2x and 3x the controller usage (per charge) with them off. I like the lights but they are really not worth the battery use. The tweezers that you use to remove the buttons in order to swap the layout are just bare metal, you have to be very accurately and squarely grabbing the buttons (especially the left face button) to enure that you do not slip and run the tweezers across the plastic face of the button, scratching it when pulling. The case that this comes with does not fit the back paddles attached to the controller, if you want to use the included case then you have to take the paddles off, put them back in their own seperate box and then the controller will fit. Conclusion: Good controller, I'm happy I bought it. I would have preferred the locked triggers to have less travel before the button is activated. When LED lights are on the battery drain is unacceptable.
