Great replacement for 55 inch TV
Having never found a good cabinet solution for the TV, We wanted to get “the big black box” out of the living room. The largest uninterrupted wall we had was 60 inches - the smallest spec’d size this projector was capable of. I thought I’d order it on a trial basis. As a family, Here are our thoughts after a month of usage. The Amazon packaging was poor. The factory box was placed in a much larger Amazon box with no padding - allowing the factory box to slide back and forth. Fortunately no damage to unit. There is a setup routine that adjusts the image to your wall - squaring it up and removing distortion from wall unevenness. It was easy to follow and worked very well. It utilizes a phone app. That is easy to install and works wonders. Very slick.Epson recommends a special screen. However, they don’t make a 60 inch screen, so we opted to use our wall. The wall is a dark tan. I wasn’t sure what the picture quality would be. 1) The picture was sufficiently bright to view on a snowy day and no shades drawn.2) At night the picture rivaled the TV - but much larger.3) The common complaint of projected systems is a lack of true black. We have not had any issue with this. The pictures are color accurate and look very well.Others have complained about fan noise on this unit. It varies quite a bit. I’d say 95% of the time it’s unnoticeable. If the unit is projecting a largely white image the fan spins up. Something we can live with but something you’ll have to try for yourself. As mentioned elsewhere, the unit doesn’t support the Netflix app. You’ll need a fire stick, Roku, Apple TV, or receiver to supply that.I wasn’t expecting much for audio. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. This, like the projection system, needed a lot of tweaking. There isn’t a simple bass /treble setting, but there is a loudness and a separate bass boost. We found having both of these off was necessary. Certainly the audio beats a normal TV. It is also compatible with Spotify. Some have complained about picture quality - You definitely need to go through the setup routine. If you’re still not getting a good picture you may have a defective unit - note my comment about the poor Amazon packaging. That’s not Epson’s fault.Overall we couldn’t be happier with our projector. Here’s to hoping you have as good an experience as we’ve had. For us, this unit’s a keeper.

Disappointing quality.
Not sure if I got a lemon or not but half the screen was dis colored right out of the box. The projector is also pretty big. Returned immediately. I’ll be switching to a lcd tv instead.

Chrome-Cast doesn't work well
The projector works well and is easy to set up and use. There is plenty of brightness and the picture is clear. The only negative is trying to project a video from the computer using chrome cast has not worked well with huge lag times. I ended up buying a wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver to handle the wireless to project from my computer.

Somewhat Underwhelming
I was so excited to get my hands on this projector. We have a den in our apartment that we use as a home theatre and our projector is quite old and only 1080p. That one is also an ultra short throw and allows us to have it positioned near the wall on a console. Two reasons I really wanted to get the Epson is that its 4k and has Android TV built in. Epson are also a market leader and renowned for their projector technology; they have been around for a long time. When the projector arrived it came in a brown Epson box and was securely packaged. Inside is the user manual, remote control, power cable and projector itself. My first impression was how large the unit is! Seriously, this thing is huge. I was a little disappointed about the size and expected something smaller given that its 2024. The remote is also quite big. The projector just fit on our console and no more; any larger and it would hang over. We already have a black framed 120" projection screen mounted on the wall and I had high hopes that the setup and alignment would be easy. It was not.Firstly, everything is fairly level in our den and the projection screen should hide a fair amount of discrepancies but the image was way off. I followed the onscreen directions but it really frustrated me, no matter how far back I moved the projector, nor how high I adjusted the legs the image was off. To add to that I noticed that the corners of the image were blurry. A look online suggested that would be down to the projector not being level. So, back to the image positioning. No matter what I tried I could not get it right 100%. You can see in my photos that the text in the upper corners is not sharp but the middle of the image is. I expected that the technology within this $2300 projector would include auto focus or any kind of focus and have more options to fix the image. On the plus side, there are many settings options to change the image itself including specifics for projecting onto a wall or a screen, but again nothing really helped, it was more with the color, brightness or sharpness. Color accuracy is definitely one of the few highpoint.I watched a show on Max and it rendered well, so maybe I am being nit picky; I mean you dont use a projector to read text so maybe it's not so bad. Sadly I am also unimpressed with the fan noise, it's a lot louder than I would have expected for a machine in this price range. To add to that, despite it running Android TV 11, Netflix is not compatible and you would either need to look into someway of sideloading or adding a dongle, which kind of defeats the purpose of having Android TV built in. The sound is fairly good and again there are a good amount of audio settings. I didn't feel the need to pair with a speaker or soundbar. All in all I don't think the price reflects the best value for money. Perhaps I have not set it up correctly or configured it correctly but for the price I think there are better and easier options available. We have reverted back to our previous projector and have placed this in the bedroom for occasional viewing but I'm not sure I could recommend this.
