I have visited south east Asia on more than one occasion and each time I am bitten several times over by mosquito. I lasted the whole two week trip this year and was only bitten once. Maybe I missed a spot on the back on my forearm. Result! The smell is noticeable and unmistakably citronella, but not unpleasant or overpowering. The spray trigger can be a little tricky. It would sometimes squirt, rather than spray evenly. It uses a pump spray without aerosol gas. The bottle lasted two weeks with continuous use. I varied the dose according to where I went that day. I topped up in the evening. Appears effective against mosquitos.

We used this recently on a trip to Thailand and when wearing this didn't have a mosquito near. It definitely worked, probably better than the local anti mosquito sprays and the one our hotel provided. I'll definitely be taking it on other trips!

This stuff smells a bit when you first put it on, but once it's dry, humans can't smell it any longer. I also find it a bit wasteful - if you hold it a little away away, then it tends to spray all over the place, but also makes a nice thin layer of itself on your skin. Hold it too close, and you get a thick blob which you'll have to spread out by rubbing it in (so then you'll wash some of it down the sink when you clean your hands).We've previously used it on 1 year old kids, and didn't see any skin issues, nor did they grow two heads. Can't say how safe it is to breath it or whatever, but having no DEET in it means at least that's not an issue.The main thing though... this stuff works - I get no bites! On a recent holiday, my wife and kids tried using some special skin cream, which didn't smell and was supposedly "just as good". They got bitten, I didn't. I'm also a walking dessert trolley for insects in our garden - I regularly get bitten extensively if I'm gardening or clambering about in the beds or whatever - not with this stuff. Would recommend!

Been in Thailand 6 days. Used it last year too. Had thought this time why am I bothering as no mossies. Forgot to put on tonight and within an hour I could feel the wee bites. And only got worse after that. Every night before no problems, no bites. Really good stuff - if you remember to put it on!!

Mosquitos love me. Everywhere I go, I get bitten repeatedly, no matter what I do. I'd resorted to DEET in recent years but it absolutely reeks and chokes me, and I still get bites, just a few less.I saw the reviews for this spray and thought it was worth a try, and I'm extremely glad I bought it. Arrived in Milan a few weeks ago staying by the canals and, in a rush to get out and get dinner, I decided not to bother digging out this spray from my suitcase and just keep wearing trousers to cover up my legs instead. I had about 20 bites between my 2 ankles by the time we got back to the hotel later that night.By the following night, my body's mad reaction to the bites had well and truly kicked in, the itch was unbearable and I couldn't sleep. By the next day it was even worse, in spite of multiple pharmacists creams - both ankles completely swollen, with the swelling and unsightly purply blotches extending several inches further in all directions of the original bites. I normally get reactions to bites, even at home, but this was far worse than before. I think the sheer volume of bites that triggered a more severe reaction and I felt sick, sore and miserable. Eventually, after further antibiotic steroid creams and antihistamines, I was feeling better by the 3rd night, even if I still looked like I had the plague and should be avoided!Anyway, lesson learned from the first night, I slathered myself in this spray from then onwards and did not get a single further bite in the 9 nights which followed, despite sitting in clouds of mosquitos at times along canals and lakes. I can go out and relax and no longer smell horrible from DEET. Finally I have found something that works and I will absolutely be buying this again for every holiday. I don't often write reviews on Amazon but I was seriously impressed with this product, after trying and failing to prevent bites with so many others. I wholeheartedly recommend!

took this when went to egypt and I usually get bitten by mossies a lot this time only had a few so it does work, and that's only because I ran out, I'm ordering 2 bottle next time :-)

Seemed to work for me. Scent not too bad and I only got the odd bite. Would recommend.

First time I’ve used non deet, I was curious to see if this was going to be any good. I felt it was really effective. I normally get bitten a lot on holiday but didn’t experience the normal bites on my legs. We were in a hot tropical climate, 30 degrees. Although the country we visited isn’t known for having mosquitoes, there were bugs and flies. It didn’t really have a noticeable smell, and the spray was easy to use, although you need to keep the bottle upright to spray so you’ll need a helping hand to spray hard to reach areas. My partner did get bitten, it was very humid so not sure if that down to effectiveness or sweaty environment.
