Zilla Pet Terrarium Rock Lair, Large

This is a very sturdy and nice quality hide. It's a little expensive but worth it. Our ball python is 488g and fits very nicely in the large size with room to grow. I got to see him in it today after a few times of going in and out of it he's gotten use to it. I also put some sphagnum moss in it to give him a humidity hide on the warm side.

Works well! Wayyyyy too small for who I was going to give it to, I think when a product says large it should actually mean large and fit a full grown ball python in it but oh well. I gave it to one of my smaller snakes and he loves it! It’s sturdy and safe. Not sure if it was worth the price though, sorry.

It’s sturdy the hole is big so it can get in. it’s worth the money it is good for moss changes and easy to clean. It’s very thick.

my bp is a little over 3 feet and she fits great inside her rock and loves it ! i was hoping it’d be just a little bit bigger so she has more growing room before i have to buy the xl or make my own rock for her but this will definitely work great for now ! i put some of her substrate at the bottom for more comfort for her so that takes a little of the space as well and she definitely fits well in it now, i just can see her outgrowing this one as fast as she did her other one especially since i just got her and my beardie in 64 gallons today (bg coming soon that will cover sides too i have no intentions of leaving her exposed like she is now, i just received and set up her tank up today so i wanted to get her in a more comfortable space for her to stretch out and her bg is coming tomorrow !)overall, great weight (heavy than expected but in a good way for sure), great color, no sharp edges and my bp is loving it so definitely a win !

I'm worried it is too big for our python's 67-gallon terrarium. I have it on the cold side and was going to make it a moist hide for her but it takes up a lot of room. It's very heavy and I think she will use it but it's taking up a lot of real estate.

Not too big a problem for me, since as a crafter, I can easily repair it in about an hour's work with superglue and two-part sculpting epoxy, but the rest of you should know: It might arrive in pieces. More probably than not, in fact.The workers at Amazon warehouses have no time to go gently and don't make enough to be allowed to handle packages very gently, quotas must be met- and unfortunately, as much as I love Zilla, their packaging on this item isn't with the assumption that people will be tossing it from hand to hand or crate to truck. It's not meant to withstand that kind of thing, it's cast rock resin, a powdered or ground mineral mixed into a polyurethane. The stuff's great to disinfect but not good at being hurled about, so it breaks.Zilla- I'd say this packaging needs a redesign to account for protecting the resin against slamming against its other half and snapping. Zilla's products are otherwise really good. This hide is designed beautifully and I plan to offer it as a humid hide to my BP.

I rescued my ball python from being kept in a black tote no light no heat no food for 7 months. I've never owned a snake before so I did a lot of research. I really struggled with the humidity until I came across a humidity box. This works great. He is fully grown but way underweight so a large fits him great. When he gains and gets to the size he is supposed to be ill have to get an XL. I wet some of that moss stuff ring it out and put it on the bottom then put dry moss over that so he isn't laying is wet or moist bedding. It holds humidity and heat very well. I put my digital humidity gauge right inside. Chaos absolutely loves it. He spends the majority of his time in it. If I get another snakes that needs humidity I will buy one of these for them

My cornsnake is a burrower and prefers to be underground or in his hides most of the time. I noticed the last couple times he shed that he was having trouble removing his skin cleanly and would have residual bits left over that I would help with. I wanted to find a hide where I could create a humid environment to help him with his shedding. This is perfect! I love that it looks like a mossy rock, and I can soak some moss and place that in his hide. This is great because now I don’t have to make his entire tank humid, and he has a moist mossy retreat he can go into. He uses this one more than any of his other hides now, and his last shed was really easy and problem free!! Highly recommend for keeping snakes (and other reptiles!) happy.
