Pretty Darn Close to OEM (Made in China)
This tail light is so close to OEM. However, the first one I got had a loose ground wire in the harness and had to be sent back. Another indicator that these are made by someone who hasn't a clue is that the backup light bulb is yellow, not clear. (Both tail lights had the yellow light) I just used the ones from my original. I also had to move the two plastic pin/clip covers over to the new fixture. (They fit over the metal pins on the forward edges of the fixture, used to hold it in place.) One plastic pin/clip cover is round and the other is an oval. It is also much easier to pull the harness apart if you pull off the clip securing it to the fixture. The extra slack makes a big difference. I did the same with the new fixture to connect the wires securely and simply pushed the clip back on again. (2019 Ford F-150 STX)UPDATE: One year later, the tail lights started acting up. (All lights were coming on very dimly, including the backup light when I braked or used the turn signal.) It was a bad ground connection in the wire harness. I found it was a poor contact with the pin. I opened up the harness and bent the pin slightly up and down. It works now.
