It clearly states 5000 IU on the front, but on the back label states 100 mcg. 125 mcg is 5000 IU, which would mean 100 mcg is only 4000 IU. 4000 IU, which is the maximum daily dosage recommended by the FDA is rare in the US, but common in the UK, which is where these pills are manufactured. I can't help but think that Incite might sell more by labeling these as 4000 IU. the maximum FDA recommended dosage.I have read that the optimum daily D3 intake for prevention of colon cancer is 9600 IU. I take two 5000 IU gel caps from Upnourish on odd days of the month and one gel cap plus one of these Incite tablets on even days. This comes out to an average of slightly more than 9500 IU/day, if the Incite tablets are in fact 4000 IU, instead of 5000 IU.

I like the small size that's easy to swallow. I was taking two larger pills to get 4000 IU of D3, and this one smaller pill contains 5000 IU of D3. I love that there is less packaging and more D3 per container so I'm paying less and ordering less often. I wish they used coconut oil or palm oil which are naturally saturated and won't oxidize. The sunflower oil in these pills quickly oxidizes and that's what produces the rancid oil smell. I would have also liked to see independent testing lab confirmation of the potency to verify that the pill contains 5000 IU of D3. The lab analysis provided simply verifies that there are few contaminates of bacteria, yeast and mold.
