Cooks toast evenly, but if you want really dark toast you will still have to put it in twice. This is a nice looking unit and all the buttons function properly, heat level is easy to change and does work well.

We usually cook our food & do toast in a Breville Smart Pro. It's an expensive unit to make toast in. We bought this JUST for the toast. It has extra wide slots for thicker breads and adjustable levels - and it works quite well. It goes with the simple electric can opener of the same brand - same color. We've found that buying ONLY what you need without all the extra gadgets makes FAR more sense & the expensive items we must have last so much longer. Same way with appliances in the kitchen & laundry, too. Simple is good! Buy JUST what you need the item for, nothing more!

Good for a while but recently one of the pegs won't go down, good toast on 2 setting, the hate is very strong, but not bad, Sleek and simple.

Just got this toaster to replace the old one. It has wide slots for toasting bagels. Fits nicely on the counter, doesnt take up much room. Goes with the color scheme in my kitchen. Works great!

Love this toaster. Great for frozen items like waffles and pastries.

I had concerns about the Black & Decker TR1410BD toaster as soon as I unboxed it. The build quality appeared subpar, and the paddle-style handles seemed flimsy. I needn't have worried about the paddles failing as the toaster itself failed in just 12 days! Despite babying the handles, the left slots no longer lock down, making half the toaster unusable.I've owned many Black & Decker products over the years, from hand vacuums to power tools, tea kettles and even a leaf mulcher and they've all been very reliable. This toaster, however, falls far below the standard I have come to expect of Black & Decker. The short time to failure is extremely disappointing and has made me question the brand’s attention to quality.I cannot recommend this toaster. My personal experience with it failing within such a short time period might not be typical but based on my observations of the quality of the toaster, it seems to me that it's unlikely to be as reliable as other Black and Decker products and is certainly not up to the same quality standards. I’m returning it and replacing it with a different brand.
