Every time the door is opened or closed, I get an alert to my phone wherever I am for free.Due to a threat at home, I had to put cameras up and a door sensor in case the individual did break the door down (the last attempt failed) then I'd have evidence the door was unlawfully opened. I now have camera footage and an alert whether the door was breached, enough for the police.It also doubles as an alarm for when my daughter goes out or when she returns, now I know exactly what time she gets home after being with friends.It was easy to install, easy to set up the app on my phone and it's been a while and the battery in it is still full and the door is opened maybe 5-6 times a day.I am very happy with this door sensor.

UPDATE:after 6 weeks of working perfectly my sensor simply stopped working and proved impossible to reconnect to the Smart Life app no matter what I tried. I emailed Panamalar and they sent me a replacement straight away no questions asked. The new one is working perfectly, I shall update my review if it stops (hopefully it was a one off issue)Original post:I purchased this because it works with the Smart Life app! Set up was pretty straight forward (jump the first paragraph for details about the sensor specifically if you want)Over the years I've purchased numerous smart devices, but keeping track of which app I used to set them up with originally, updating firmware or changing WiFi logins has become a real pain... it's anything but smart! So where possible I've factory reset a lot of these devices so I can set them up with third party apps, instead of the one they came with (yes a lot of them will work with other apps), so I now only have three apps that control all my devices, which makes managing them a lot easier. I have Android, Alexa and iPhone users in my house, so I've also got HOOBS (which is free by the way) running on an old Mac Mini as a Apple Home Kit bridge, so now everything's connected and can be controlled whatever the platform or voice assistant, finally the house is starting to feel smart!A really nice feature of these is that rather than forcing you to download yet another mobile app (that will likely be forgotten or not updated in future, thus making your device obsolete), it works with the Smart Life app, which if you already use for numerous other devices (like myself), means you'll be up and running in minutes. And if you haven't used the app before, then I recommend it, it's layout and functionality are excellent and as I said it works with a lot of third party devices.Open the app, tap new top right, type in your wifi ID and password, then switch on the device (easiest to do one at a time), it will start to flash quickly, follow the onscreen prompts and the app should find it in about 10 secs. If it didn't work use AP mode (access point), whereby you reset the device to act as a wifi base station that you connect to then the app copies your home WiFi settings over to it and it reboots connecting to your WiFi.Name it, set its room, schedule if you want and you're done, repeat for any other devices. And if you want to use it with Alexa, that's easy to do in the Alexa app. Apple Home Kit, you'll need to install HOOBS somewhere on your network and use that.At £20 this is relatively pricey, I've seen others at just over half that, but for me the Smart Life App integration was key, although I have run into a bug, although no fault of this device as far as I can tell (even though the device shows up fine in Smart Life and Alexa sees it no problem, I cannot get HOOBS to see this device even though it registers everything else registered within the Smart Life app?).Please select the “Helpful” button is your found my review helpful, much appreciated thank you

I have this on my bedroom door as I have orphaned that when it senses it open it will turn my bedroom light on and when it’s senses it’s closed it will turn my light off it was easy to set up and the battery life is amazing would definitely recommend it’s only small so the fit is perfect

The item was easy to install and the app works seamlessly or did until about a week ago and then didn't . Became intermittent and sometimes missed both opening and closing events. Changed batteries and reinstalled the app. Unusable, unreliable and the supplier offered no solution other than unstable wifi - which is not the case.Update - stopped working entirely

Easy to fit and now works well.The only downside was initial connection to the Bluetooth took quite a few tries.

Very impressed with this. At the price it was I was not expecting much but it really does work well. We already had the app to work it on the phone so was easy for us to add on a other appliance, may not be so easy for a novice to the app. Saved us endless trips outside to check the door is closed! So far it still remains in place, so sticks well with the pads provided. Great value and just what we wanted as it works with Alexia too.
