High quality, heat sink screws on and is on the proper side

I replaced an older adapter with this one. The old one had the heat sink on the right side (looking from the front of the computer) where it interfered with the card next to it. It was secured with three rubber bands which rotted and allowed the heat sink to fall off onto the motherboard. This one in contrast has the heat sink on the left side, which is where all other cards have their heatsinks/fans, so it doesn't interfere with the card next to it. The heatsink is held on with four screws, so it's not coming loose. The kit comes with different thicknesses of thermal pads. I experimented until I got a combination of pads that caused the heat sink to make firm contact to the M.2 card with the screws tightend down, without bowing the card.Snapped in and worked first time. Very satisfied. Superior product.

Easy to install, don't go cheaper.

Works perfectly. Easy access to get the heatsink on and off. Popped it right into the x4 slot on my little SFF Optiplex. It saw the nvme immediately and I saw the advantages of that format of storage right away.

Works like a charm with a pcie 3.0 SSD and PCIE 3.0 16x slot

Works as described. You have to remember how fast SSD's are, even a PCIE 3.0 slot at 16x cannot operate ssd v4.0 cards, ( well it can, but you will only get pcie 3.0 x16 speeds. There is an option to upgrade to pcie 4.0 slot, pick that one if you motherboard has pcie 4.0 and an available pcie 4.0 16x slot. Once inserted, it automatically recognized the drive and tried to boot to the OS that was on it. I had to take it back out and erase the ssd to stop it from trying to boot the OS. It is not recognized in the BIOS because the card does not have any bios chip.

Pricey but it works - one potential gotcha though to be aware of

I've bought 3 of these. They work fine. I think the heat sink, despite being impressive, is not very effective. Which is good because on one system there are some small metal capacitors next to one of the PCI-e slots. The heat sink extends to the edge of the card - taking it very close to the MB when inserted. Removing the capacitor was obviously not an option. Fortunately this system has excellent cooling so everything stays in the green. I filled it with 4tb sticks.

Works great and looks nice

Worked immediately. Speeds are fast. A little less than max capability of the SSD I got, but that’s probably just because it’s slotted through pcie and not straight m.2. It is a full enclosure so it takes a little time to install as you have to unscrew 4 screws.

A Perfect Union of Form and Function

One man's garbage is another man's treasure. Works perfect. Thanks Sabrent.

Simple and fast

Couldn't ask more for a fast m.2 adapter at this price. it has some blue leds but they are not even noticeable and easily taped over if the color bothers you.

Great except gets too hot running continually at PCIe 5.0 speed on my machine

I have an Asus Rog Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard using it's expansion card for the first PCIe5 drive. The Sabrent card goes into the first x16 slot after removing the graphics card.Found out that CSM no longer works without a graphics card so no legacy booting (which is ok.)Enclosure works great except a full clone of a 9100 Pro to another 9100 pro will overheat. When that occurs Macrium Reflect X throws an error 9 (1392) corrupt file or folder.I believe the source boot sector gets corrupted so be careful if this ever happens.Macrium Rapid Delta Clones that only take a few seconds always work at about 9.5GB/s.I have ordered another enclosure and will try to modify it so can use a large Sabrent Rocket heatsink.Would prefer to use a Samsung 9100 Pro with heatsink, but can't put into the enclosure.Bottom line, if copying a lot of data at full PCIe5 speed the enclosure gets too hot.
