I got this kit as my son was showing an interest in electronics after learning about it in school, I got this as a small birthday gift to add to the pile and he absolutely loves this. I didn’t want to buy one of the expensive kid sets which cost twice as much and essentially just come with a light bulb and thought he might as well learn with a kit that has multiple components. A few broken leds later he is utilising the timer chip to make some fun light displays and seems to want to learn and practice with every component available.The only issue we have had is that the power supply button doesn’t stick down very well and requires multiple presses to stick, we have resorted to just unplugging the battery when not in use and we are more than with the rest of this set for it to negatively impact our rating.

This kit seem to come with all the components you would need to start out in electronics. I found the breadboard a little awkward sometimes, but maybe they all are I don’t know, but that is why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5.

I couldn't at first find the forward voltage or current rating for the LEDs, and how to find this out isn't at all obvious. I eventually discovered the rating in Lesson_2_LED.docx in the suggested Github download. I therefore wouldn't recommend this kit unless you know what you're doing with computers. I have however changed from 2 to 5 stars, but the component ratings (like voltage & current for LEDs, and Wattage for the resistors) should really be printed out and included within the kit imho, and definitely included in the advert!

Good starter kit. Plenty in it for the price.

The kit I received was missing the breadboard and all the LEDs. The box was also missing a clip so didn't close properly. Weirdly it had an extra single sided pcb board, which is nice but for a beginner the kit is pretty much useless without the breadboard. Very disappointed as it was the best kit based on the contents advertised in the listing.

The box contained the components perfectly and everything looked amazing.My kid has wanted to get into electronics for a while and said this was the best start he could’ve ever wished for. He now studies electronics at school and has said that this kit has helped him a lot. He used it as an amazing and in pastime instead of playing computer games all day.He says his only wish was that there was two breadboards instead of one.We love it!
