This was perfect for testing/prototyping

The reader works perfectly. I have a prototype project I used this for and I could see so many applications for it. The reader will write the Id number to the connected device, in my instance to a field on a webpage. It automatically presses enter after entering the card id number. Perfect identity or access tool.

Easy programming

Very easy to setup with our current PC for our time clock system for employees. Works great with a variety of RFID cards and is priced competitively. Will see how long this lasts over the year

Perfectly works out of the box

Needed something not to expensive for a project where we already used HID badge cards. units worked perfect out of box no need to install software or drivers and also worked in my android phone. for someone like me with no experience in RF ID cards it was very easy. If you need to change the number format then it requires more knowledge on how is choose and configure the right format for you.

worked on my 125khz prox cards

Instructions were a little confusing but once you read thru them again it makes sense. Unless of course you do not even need to worry about the format then why bother. It worked with no drivers in windows as promised. Plug in, and scanned card and it was perfect. We are using to pass the card number into a field in our program so our setup is a little more complex. Worked great, like the option to be able to program it to send or not send the enter key.

I recieved two. When you read the same tag on the different readers you get two different numbers.

I wanted to use the product for a Meals on Wheels food distribution site. Besides getting different numbers on different readers AFTER POWERING OFF FOR THE NIGHT. It no longer sends a return after the read. Without the return I can not do an auto look up. We were preparing to make it a center part of our operation. With its flaky operation we can't. Yesterday I asked for help. I will report back. UPDATEAfter powering off system It seems to sometimes lose its configuration. You will need to reconfigure at times to get all readers to sync on same setting.

Not what was expected.

This is low end usage.

This one actually works - don't buy the cheaper ones

Bought another similar reader for about $12. Did not work. This one comes with english instructions and a configuration card. Interface is a little goofy - you gotta put your cursor in TextEdit and tap the config card and it will start cycling through menus for you. You unplug the device when it comes across the option you want to choose. Weird, but it works. I'm using this for a Raspberry Pi, IoT type thing with some 125mHz tags. This works so far.

Works as advertised!

The biggest thing to determine before purchasing one of these RFID readers are the specifications of the card(s) you plan on reading. They all physically look similar, but the technology for reading the information is different. Our cards use format 51 (advanced config) without prefix/suffix. As another reviewer stated, the instructions are a little confusing, but after reading it over a bit and playing around with a little guess-and-check, as long as it spits out some data the first time you use it, the card is most likely compatible with the RFID reader...you just have to figure out the configuration.I give it 4 out of 5 stars due to the instructions. If the instructions were easily understood I'm fairly confident I would have had it properly configured in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately due to the confusion it took me about an hour. Still not bad considering it works, and it works well. The software-on-board configuration was a uniquely interesting way to program it too, which -even if clunky- I actually like; no possibility to lose the software or user manual!
