Upon receipt, while still in the clear bag they shipped in, I turned the whole bag over so all the white sand began to flow at once. I timed the test with my watch timer set to 30 seconds and found that every hourglass completed its mission in 30 seconds ± 2 seconds, which is amazing when you consider the price. My primary use for these is at hand washing points around the house (just 4) and for give-away and backup storage. The fact that they are 30-second in lieu of the recommended 20-secon period for hand washing is actually a benefit because it provides 10 extra seconds for turning on the tap, getting the liquid soap on the hands and getting the hands wet, so the washing is 20-seconds of actual soap and water washing vs. ancillary exercises around hand washing. These are uniformly made and sturdily built (considering their intended use as a toy). Highly recommended as a hand washing timer!

I bought these 30 second timers to put next to sinks at home and work. They are accurate and handy for making sure we all wash our hands for at least 20 to 30 seconds. A big help if you are tired of singing Happy Birthday!

I don't know about everyone else, but singing "Happy Birthday" to count off 20 seconds got old fast. As we are all washing our hands many times a day, I thought these would be a fun way to let us know if we have washed long enough. These timers count down 30 seconds, ten seconds longer than needed, but it goes quickly and it doesn't hurt to go a little longer. They are only available in large quantities, so I put one by every sink and have handed the rest out to friends. Fun, cheap and easy. What more could I ask?

These were good quality, accurately timed, especially for the price. I've been giving them out to use for proper hand wash times for virus protection (such as COVID19). 30 seconds gives time to turn it over, wet one's hands, get soap, then use the remaining 20+ seconds for a proper hand wash. It's been a popular giveaway for this purpose. The order was fulfilled promptly.

Lost a couple of them a couple of weeks after they arrived, other than that they work. They are definitely not accurate to the second, however.

I timed this to 30 seconds (informally) and it was 30 seconds. Not only that but these things aren't dinky and fall apart in your hand. They are sealed well and I anticipate they will last a long time. I use them in my house to make sure people was their hands for at least 30 seconds. The CDC recommended is 20 secs but what's 10 more secs going to hurt? Better than washing them for 5 secs, right? I have one at each sink in the house so people can make sure they wash their hands long enough. Then I have lysol to spray them down afterwards.

Can’t beat the price especially since I am going to use them when we return to the classroom to aid in hand washing. The two I tested were accurate.
