Q: Is this simplistic? Can I stand on it & get my weight, or does it provide lots of other stuff like BMI, & I have to enter my height?

You stand on it and get your weight. It does not calculate BMI, heart rate, your odds of winning the lottery, etc.

Q: How consistent is weight reading

With many body weight scales, there is a minimum weight (one brand was 11 lbs) to ensure an accurate reading. Perhaps next time, you could try weighing yourself, then weighing yourself holding the package -- and the difference is the package weight! We do this to weigh our cats. :)

Q: Can the scale be moved around?

I am 6' 2" and weigh 240 lbs. I should be around 220 so I have kicked the scale from wall to wall on occasion. Still works great.

Q: Does the weight change depending on where you place the scale on the floor?? The Ozeri scale I have now does this making it useless

I've received the same readings wherever I place this scale. As with any scale, it should be on a hard surface rather than carpet or rug since an uneven or cushioned surface can affect the reading. This particular scale gives a higher weight for the first reading after it is moved; this is part of the recalibration process. After that, it should give consistent readings. It will recalibrate when it is moved again so allow for that (weigh yourself more than once and ignore the first reading) the first time you use it in the new location.
