I ordered this for my father-in-law for his hospital bed. Hospice ordered him one so we could put up the rail at night so he would not fall out of bed and so we could raise the bed up high enough so he didn't have to lean back so far to sit and lay down. The only problem was that the mattress was this and uncomfortable. Dad's back hurt because the mattress is so thin and probably too old. This mattress topper adds a good layer of plushness to the mattress that Dad's back didn't hurt anymore. We ended up getting a hospital bed from a friend that had a better mattress, but we still use the topper because Dad liked how plush it felt.Dad moved into a memory care home when we were no longer able to care for him, but he has the furniture from his own bedroom and his comfy chair from the den and more for when we visit him. The topper is easy to wash which is good because of accidents. But someone else ended up with one of the toppers and have not given it back. So I'm buying two more! This time I'm going to label them with Dad's name so that he can enjoy the topper. So now I have enough again, so that if there's an accident, then he has a clean topper waiting in the closet to be put on his bed.I highly recommend this topper. Dad is not hot or cold with it - he says he is just right. It's easy to wash and dry. It had a big elastic section so that it fit the smaller mattress and the new thicker mattress. I'm glad it came in XL Twin size for Dad's hospital bed. If I didn't have a sleep number mattress then I'd use this bamboo topper too. My bed comes with something like this built-in. I hope this review helps you choose what is best for you.

Pain relief:My husband was admitted to the hospital again and the only thing for me to sleep on was a fold down table like they have in a RV. It hurt my back so bad that I opted to sleep sitting up in a chair all night. I heard of people using a mattress topper on these things for a little relief so I bought this one. To my surprise it works great. I bought the queen size so I could double it up for extra cushion. Now I can comfortably sleep next to my husband while he is in the hospital without pain in my back.

I never bother with reviews, but after ordering another brand and returning it, I was skeptical I could find comfort and cooling. This one is it! First night using this product, we had a storm and lost electricity and therefore, air-conditioning. I did not find the bed hot. This mattress cover stayed cool. Also, although other review have said it is thin, It is plenty thick and definitely adds a level of comfort to the bed. Lastly, it definitely didn’t have a discernible smell. Now, I did open the packaging and lay it out for a couple of hours before putting it on the bed. But, even newly opened, I could not tell if it was the item or the packaging that had a little plastic smell. Yet, once on the bed when I went to sleep, definitely no smell. Very very pleased with this purchase.

I wasn’t even going to leave a review. I purchased this after seeing a few reviews that said this product was “life changing” and then went back to see others say it was thin and didn’t affect the comfortability of their bed.It was nice and thick straight out of the package. I washed and dried it regularly. It’s a tad smaller than the top of my mattress (twin) but doesn’t affect the quality in my opinion. It makes my very firm mattress so much more comfortable. I really enjoy it. Makes it hard to get out of bed in the morning. Give it a go—big difference for a low price!

This mattress pad exceeded my expectations. I removed it from the package and tossed it into the wash, then cool dry. It came our soft and the padding was substantial. I got it on the mattress later in the evening and let it sit before I remade the bed. The pad covered the top of our mattress completely. I left our ceiling fan on overhead. By the time we made the bed, the pad was cool and wonderful. We had our first night on the new pad and it was better than I hoped for. I can't recommend it enough.

This mattress cover is perfect if you have a mattress that is too firm but also it is great about helping your mattress not to be so hot. If your mattress is already running hot it may not work as well and it may not work as well if you have a mattress that is already soft. I put it on a firm mattress that already had cooling gel built into it but I wanted something to protect my mattress without losing my cooling effect and also to be able to soften the mattress a bit, so this was perfect for what I needed it for and it's working very well I did not lose the cooling effect of my mattress and also my firm mattress is no longer hurting my ribs. I can't say anything about the waterproofing though or durability or the washability or rip a resistance . But it is a good cover, I've mostly wanted it to protect my mattress from stains over the time period of sleeping on the mattress.
