Useful in the right application

I've been building a radiation topography robot and have been using this in what started as a Raspberry Pi environment. I had to bring on an Arduberry to interface with this sensor. The sensor hasn't lived up to my hopes and I would purchase one of the Geiger counter kits for sale if I were to do it over again. For me, this sensor is trying to do too much with it's averaging and vibration detection, and I would rather just receive a continuous signal of measured radiation and do whatever averaging/data rejection I want in my code. Also, perhaps I'm just dense, but after playing with it for ~6 months, I still haven't figured out what some of the characters it wants for input even are. I see them in the publications and can't find them in any keyboard layouts I know of. I feel the proper use of this sensor is in static radiation safety situations where you'll trip an alarm if radiation levels reach a pre-ordained level. Say a reactor or similar with a simple implementation of Arduino environment detecting the level and throwing an alarm if needed.
