This is a great harness. The material is sturdy, but it's still very lightweight and comfortable; my dog is able to freely run in it.With the right size, this harness also functions like a martingale collar in that the more you (or the dog) pull on the leash, the tighter it gets around the body. That mechanism helps prevent the dog from slipping out.I've attached photos to show how different sizes fit on a small fluffy dog that weighs 18 pounds and has a chest circumference of about 19 inches (18.5 inches if the tape measure is pulled tight).The small size harness did fit, barely, but I would've had to pull the harness even tighter in order to bring the two ends of the leash rings together to clip on the leash -- that is, for normal wear. (Just FYI, the circumference of the harness is about 21 inches here.) Also, I could tell that the harness sides were too small and uncomfortable on my dog.So the Small size was just too small and too tight and uncomfortable for my dog. I had originally tried this size because I was concerned about excess slack making the leash ring ends flop around, but the small harness left no slack at all.The medium size fits perfectly. You can see in the photo that there's enough slack to pull the harness tighter when needed, but otherwise, the harness fits comfortably while he is relaxed.The large size also did fit, but you can see in the photo that the harness fits loosely even with the adjustable belts at the smallest lengths. That meant the harness couldn't be pulled any tighter to prevent the dog from slipping out. Plus the leash ring end belts would easily flop around.So, based on this experience, my dog's 19 inch chest was at the very end but within the limits of the Small size range; in the middle of the Medium range; and just below the range for Large. The Medium size harness fit the best, and it was also the only one that allows the harness to function like it's supposed to.Overall, I highly recommend this harness. Just make sure you get the right size for your pup. I just wish it was a bit more affordable and that it had a ring on the front for attaching ID tags.

The Gooby Escape Free Easy Fit Harness is exactly what I needed for both of my small dogs who are escape artists and my big dog who scares easily at sudden or loud noises. The design is brilliant—I love the martingale-style cinch - it’s secure but comfortable, and my pups can’t wriggle out of it like other harnesses I’ve tried. The step-in style makes it quick and easy to put on, which is a big plus when you’re dealing with an excited pup!The harness is lightweight but durable, with soft padding that doesn’t irritate the skin. I also appreciate the range of colors, as it’s nice to have something both functional and stylish. Our walks have been so much easier and worry-free with this harness. Highly recommend for small dog owners, especially if you’ve had issues with other harnesses! But we big dog owners can enjoy the security and ease this harness provides. Every walk is now a joy!

This is a strong harness and I feel confident using this product for my mid-size dog knowing she will stay safe while wearing the harness even if she pulls on the leash. The product was priced at a good price point and I really like the color of the harness. The product fits my dog well, is easy to adjust and I would buy this product again.

This is the BEST harness we have tried. The medium size is a little large for our 15lb cockapoo, but it works (and I used the proper size by the sellers measurements.)The latches and D rings are all hard plastic so I'm not confident they will last a long time, however they are sufficient for use and it functions well with good control of the dog. It's so easy to put on when the dog "sits", and it's nice that it's not necessary to put it over the head. It seems comfortable and durable to wear and doesn't seem to bother our pup when she pulls. I've yet to wash it, and hoping it will hold up after wash.

I love this and my dog does too!!! It is the one I’ve been looking for since I’ve owned dogs. It is easy to get on and off. It is easy and obvious to adjust. It stays adjusted. It is escape proof. It doesn’t hurt my dog. He is easy to gently control my dog with this, I like the orange color. I own a very high energy terrier who jumps, pulls and tries to escape but he’s calmed down to manageable and can walk with some slack on his leash sometimes. It’s a miracle. I hope it’s nice for your dog too. It’s a really good brand. This design is step in then you attach it up between their shoulder blades, it’s got slack until you are walking and then it pulls together.

I never write reviews, but had to for this harness! We are just now replacing our first one after having it for 8 years. And only replacing because it’s gotten gross and I don’t want to clean it😂We are rough on it, and the only thing that has happened in 8 years is the small rip on the chest piece (in picture) which didn’t affect the use. It is comfortable for our dog and obviously doesn’t choke at all. Great harness especially for the price!

I really like this harness. With so many choices out there so I’m happy I found a good one. It has a very cool and unique way to tighten for secure fit. Highly recommend.

Quality built. Seems comfortable for my pup. Easy to use. Like that it has some play on the leash. Would not attempt to use on a lead in the yard it drops down too much. Bought for taking walks but does not prevent pulling. Much better control than a standard neck collar. We bought a 2nd since we like it so much. 1 star off for still pulling.
