529-VW-S 8-ft White VHF Antenna with Cable

I was hesitant to order this through amazon with their poor packaging history, but couldn't find one locally. As I feared the box showed up with two major hits where the cardboard tube was actually damaged through to the antenna. The worst one was by the base. The antenna looks like it took the hit pretty well with some minor hairline cracks in the fiberglass. I hope it holds up over time, well see. Just wish they would package the products better. That's the reason I gave it only 4 stars was because the poor package job. The digital antenna's are fantastic products and may save your life some day.

We ordered two for the boat. One worked great and the other would not put out a good full signal.Sent it back for replacement and ended up getting 3 more antennas.Probably happened because Amazon did not separate out each antenna as a separate item and all details on the order involved a set of two under one order number.Many weeks later, many frustrating phone calls, sending off three 8-foot boxes to Amazon Returns, I think we have finally received the refunds.First problem I have had with Amazon ordering but it was a doozy. Hope it's not a pattern that reappears.

I had a serious range issue, and hardly got any channels. But with this I am confident my DSC will call for help if needed and I can scan safety channels easily.

The special connector that the PL259 screws into is a great feature! Connector: Gold factory-attached mini-UHF female with mini-UHF male to UHF male (PL259) adapter. This makes it so easy to route this antenna lead through small (3/8" / 9.5 mm) hole.

Best marine vhf antenna ever.
