At least it doesn't come apart on the highway!
Don't exactly know what genuine means when it comes to Chinese copies of Diamond and Comet. This came promptly, and looked pretty sturdy. The screws liked to vibrate loose, even at relatively low speed driving, and the Loctite took care of that.Frequency bands, on my generic sedan, with both magnet and trunk mounts, was off.Measurements were made with a Comet AA-500 II, and compared with Diamond standard monobanders (except for the 144/440 I tested for grins) from my collection of genuine Japanese aerials I bought at Ham Radio Box Stores for a lot more money.I could get the 6 M, 2 M and 70 CM to tune without much difficulty. The 10 meter was not so friendly. I cut my own adjustable piece for the hat, and that nearly got it working right.Surprisingly, it tuned up 11 meters fine, if you want to talk to the Citizen's Band crowd. If you are expecting the ease and performance of the Diamond that costs three times as much, forget it.That said, I have great results with 2 meter simplex, and 70 centimeter repeater. It hasn't fallen apart yet, either.

Works as advertised
Delivery time was long but the antenna works very well on 2M and 70cm. I have not made a contact on 6M or 10M yet.The set screws will work loose and are size M4. Keep an eye on them or the top half of the antenna will go missing!

SWR settings for TYT antenna
These quad band antennas are a little hard to find so you have to consider that when you consider value. The thickness is fine. The setting screws seem to be made of light duty metal so you may need to consider that when making SWR adjustments. I really don't know what is meant by "sheerness." The antenna comes with no instructions. I sent a message to the company through Amazon and got no reply. That in itself is not good business. The TYT 9800 is a Chinese cloan for the Yaesu 8900. So I thought the antenna may be a clone too. I did find Yaesu 8900 antenna SWR settings on the internet which was very helpful. I can't say the same about the TYT antenna.

Bad set screws!
All of the set screws are cheap and will not tighten down. The heads strip out of the screws.

Didn't come with assembly instructions. Had to view the picture online to assemble.
So far appears to have good SWR and decent radiation pattern on all bands.

Nice "stationary" quad channel antenna.
Works ok when sitting still in my jeep wrangler but once moving on the road, it falls out of its socket (falls over). It needs to go down deeper into its base or a stronger spring so it holds it tighter. Nice concept though to be able to lower it and 4 channel. The ability to "lower it" feature worked well for pulling into my garage where the antenna is too high to fit in the up position. I had to take it off.

Reliable
I have good results with this antenna but I made a few mods. First thing place all parts it their joints as deep as they will go. To Make sure thecenter coil stays Secure add a drop of glue then tighten both the ends ( they loosened up on me) adjust the SWR for 10 meters first the top part in as far as it would go set the SWR in ok range for The 6 meters and 2 meters were close enough too. Next i took a electrical connector that just fit over the outer threads of the top of the mount adjustment nut tighten down then I crimped the antenna whip peace in the wire holder to complete the 10 meter section. I now cut a piece of wire slide in the top adjuster moved up and down cut off inch at a time until I had a match for 40 meters on antenna analyzer then tightened all sections down firmly. The top wire piece is around 30 inches . I haven't measured it yet still a work in progress looking for the sweat spot.
