Fire! Fuego! Brave Bomberos

Great book for preschoolers!
I’m a preschool teacher and work on our school’s playground (outdoor classroom!) The children love to play firefighters and so I wasn’t surprised that this book would be well received. What I love is that the book incorporates Spanish words into the rhythmic text and the context and illustrations help the reader understand the meaning. Additionally there is a glossary in the back of the book listing all the words used and their meanings. So—great rhyming text with bilingual component. But that’s not all! The illustrator depicts both male and female firefighters working hard on the job.The preschoolers love this book so much, and repeatedly bring it to a teacher to read it to them.Personally I love the book so much, I gifted a copy to my daughter who is entering her student teaching program at University this coming August.

New fave
My 3 yr old picked this book to check out at the local library and was instantly obsessed. He cried when we returned it - 3 separate times. I finally decided we may as well get our own! The illustrations are beautiful and the story is engaging but not too technical. It's by far the best "fire department themed" book I've come across of the dozens my son has chosen at the library, for whatever that opinion is worth!

Excellent for increasing Soanish vocabulary!
I am a homeschlong mom teaching my kids Spanish, and am currently using Susan Elya's line of fabulous books to do just that!! When I speak to my kids in Spanish only, they resist. When I mix Spanish vocabulary in with what I am saying, they are very receptive. These rhyming books mix English and Spanish exquisitely, make learning very fun, and you'll be amazed by the end of the book how much Spanish vocabulary the children are introduced for. Out of all Ms. Elya's books, this is one of our favorites because it has firemen (popular with my sons) and a kitty (popular with my girls)!

... received "Oh no Gotta Go" as a gift and loved it. We equally love this book too
We bought this for my son after we had received "Oh no Gotta Go" as a gift and loved it. We equally love this book too! I love that my three year old is being introduced to Spanish, and I like that it challenges myself as well. We will for sure be buying more from this author.

This is a book that my young readers grab repeatedly
This book is so intriguing to young readers. Boys love fire trucks but as a parent & educator learning spanish to teach children this book helps you. The words are familiar words that you can use from time to time after reading the book to teach the young readers spanish. The kids love it and as a parent and educator, I love it. It's fun and educational along with intriguing illustrations that captures a child's attention over and over again.I recommend this book!Happy Reading from your Energetic Child care provider :)

Spanish is easy to learn!
A fun and exciting book about Firefighters! You and your kids can learn how the firehouse works, how difficult firemen (and women) have to work. At the same time, you can learn many Spanish words. A great book that our kids love to read over and over. They learn vocabulary words in 2 languages without even realizing it. Both parents in the household never get tired of reading it.
