Will work with one trekking pole, but works best with two
I bought the inner tent only to use with a tarp shelter and it has worked great. To achieve maximum tautness, you really need to use two trekking poles. I'm 5' tall and have room for my backpack inside the tent. The tent seems to be good quality and fairly lightweight. I would probably buy the rain fly if they made it in brown or olive green.

Too small
Too small, simple as. It's a shame because it's not a badly made item and an interesting concept. Yes this is a lightweight backpacking tent and space is it a premium but even with nothing else in the tent interior, if you can't lay down flat what use is it? And I could claim I'm six foot in my trainers, but I'd be flattering myself if I was much over that.I've taken this out once to a wild camp in the Pennines in the UK, both outer flysheet and the inner'' variation (the grey, non mesh) and although it didn't rain those night, I've got no reason to think that this wouldn't be waterproof. But again, a night in the foetal position isn't really what I want after a long days walking, it's just too small.Interesting concept though, what with using walking poles as the tent props, but even then I'm not sure the space saving in a pack is really worthwhile.
