works with old ipod
I can play music in my car with my 22 year old ipod with this cable. SO happy. I tried 2 other cables that looked the same but did not work. And because it was mentioned in other reviews, I have Bose speakers and it works great.also since it has been mentioned in other reviews this cable did work with Bose speakers,

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!
Cheap fix to get 15 year old iPod music piped into my new kenwood head stereo unit in 20 year old new to me truck. Just used it on long trip exclusively almost enjoyed it so much listening to my fav old classics. It lives in truck now along with the old usb chord that can be used to charge it when not playing - plus only 2/5 battery used after 12 hours playing constantly in truck then charged in an hour on 120 v power. So aux input not charge is zero issue for me . Don’t waste your money on an extension chord like I did. It’s plenty long as is

Not real sturdy
I bought this product because the output jack on my old traditional iPod no longer was operating. By plugging the 30 point end into the bottom of my iPod, I was able to use the opposite end RCA style jack in a small portable speaker. You can’t control the volume on the iPod with this system, but you can control the volume with the speaker. I gave this less than five stars because the unit was pretty poorly constructed on the end which connected to the iPod. It actually broke about the third time I used it. On the other hand, it was pretty easy to reassemble it and use some duct tape to keep it together.
