The Flowers of Evil - Complete 3

Might be my favorite vol in the whole series.
I don't know where to begin, this is an absolute masterpiece. I feel like everyone always just talks about vol 1 and sometimes vol 2, but damn, this one might be my favorite. The characters are so engaging to read as they've naturally grown so much, plus the new characters fit in so well. I see obvious repetition which sounds bad, but really is amazing when you actually read it and see what I mean, the stuff between Kasuga, the girl he begins to love, and her boyfriend feels so real, and impactful on my life. Please read this, it's incredible.

This gut-punch of a series takes a break for some happy moments
This series was firmly in my top ten from the first 2, and this one ensures it'll keep it's spot.I initially was disapointed it didnt have the same emotionally-apocolyptic tone, but then i thought about it more. This chapter in Kasuga's life is about growth and distancing himself from what happened, so it makes sense thematically. Plus we could all use a biiiit of a break...even if this volume does have 3 or 4 wrenching moments.I was also worried Kasuga couldnt carry this by himself, as Nakamura and Saeki were really the main draws. But thankfully Kasuga seems, not different no, but wiser and more connected with himselfOverall a great penultimate volume, cant wait for the new and final one.

Best Manga I’ve Ever Read
What to say about this section of Flowers of Evil..? It’s refreshing. The pace changes a little, and I think it’s for the better. If you feel miserable from reading the last one (as you should), the writer gives you a little break with this one all while making sure you still see the protagonist as the haunted soul he is. I can’t wait to read the next edition!!
