Crapped out after a couple of months of minimal use!
I would have given it more stars, because it's otherwise a decent device, but I bought two, and one has already crapped out -- and I only used it once!! When I plug it into a USB port, it sits there for awhile, drawing only about 80mA, Then, after awhile, the red light comes on. Still drawing only around 80mA I let it sit for several days, and still with the red light and the 80mA "charge" rate. I tried plugging the other one into the same connector, using the same cable [the one that came with the unit], and the red light comes on immediately, and the current zips up to around 800mA [or so]. And, not that much later, the light is green [a few hours]!So, it's not the USB port [I tried several others], and it's not the cable [I tried several others], it's the Novobeam!!The postage to send it back will cost about as much as the replacement cost, so the reality is, I paid around $8 for a small, dim, red lantern that uses too much power for that function!!!

Functional, but problematic switching
The way it switches is annoying as heck. I use it to power the WiFi cameras I use for security purposes in my house, so they have a battery backup in case someone unplugs my house (it's an RV with power easily accessible outside). These battery packs don't have physical on/off switches, so they turn on based on whether you have a device plugged in or not...but, if you plug in a device while the battery pack is plugged in to an outlet, it won't turn on. So, you have to unplug it from the wall, plug in your device, and then plug it back into the wall (at least it stays on when doing this little dance, otherwise they would be literally useless for me).If you will never be using them when they're plugged into wall power, you'll never have reason to complain about this, and they seem to work OK in that situation. I wish they had a simple hardware switch to turn them off and on, though, and eventually I may replace these with some that do. They're cheap and they work, though, so I guess that's worthwhile.

This is a small compact charger that I can take anywhere and it’s works great I have not had any issues with the product at all and it comes in handy when my battery is low and I am out in the field with no charger!!!!

this this is pretty good. it charges my Iphone 5 from 1% to 100% no problem and even kep going for more. only con is that there is no on/off button and it just senses the connection and turns on and off automatically. this can kind of go bad when it drains it's own battery thinking something is plugged in. take a while to chagre, but it's worth the extra battery life.

I don't recommend
Don't buy this thing. I bought 2, one arrived broken, and the other sucked. Battery life is terrible and if you plan on traveling don't count on it

BAD ITEM ALL TOGETHER!!!
this product started to quit working 2 weeks after ordering. the charging power was good until that point, but you’re going to have to put it on the charger right after. i bought this product for school in case i forgot to charge my phone, i got in trouble for it cause it looked like an “ inappropriate” item, and people made fun of me for it. my opinion is just don’t get it all together. not worth it!

Just what I needed!
This is a lifesaver! Not only is it compact, but it delivers a quick charge and charges itself quickly when I have to plug it into the wall. Great for a road trip (we all know car chargers are not adequate for smart phones).
