Good stand, but needs more weigh tin the base if using a side-address mic

This boom arm is okay. If you choose to use the stand you cant extend it out or it will fall due to its own weight. Which sucks. But if you chose to use the desk clip that comes in the box it will make it so much better. But still, remember to use a small microphone with this boom arm. The thing is pretty small and I don't see this thing holding up a blue yeti. But otherwise that I think its good for the money and I'm satisfied.

The media could not be loaded.  unless you have a very lightweight mic this stand will tip over and fall, so you need to have something to keep the weight down. And if you fully expand the arm it will fall even if there isn't anything on it. So if you're looking to buy this make sure you add a heavy weight or velcro to the shopping cart.

The base of this stand has no weight to it at all. It seems to be just plastic. If you extend the mic arm it simply falls over because there is no weight on the base to balance it out. This mic stand defeats the purpose of its existence by the way it is designed. It does come with an clamp so rather than using the base you can clamp it to the desk/table and then you can actually extend the mic arm. I wanted to us it with the base but have to keep the arm 80% retracted to keep it from falling over. Pretty much just a standard upright mic stand at that point.

Does the job for lighter mics however will not hold down heavier blue mics.

The mike setup is pretty good. Comes with a nice selection of options, including the base and a clamp if you want to go that way. The real issue is that the base is so light, it tips over with just the arm attached, let along a mic. Be prepared to do some work to weigh down the base to make it stay to your desktop.

Only complaint is the base needs more weight for stability issue. My remedy was to put wrist/ankle weights on top which did the trick. Had the base been heavier I'd give it 5 stars.
