This lamp is absolutely stunning. The base is very sturdy and extremely heavy, which is great because that means two things: 1). It doesn’t knock over easily. 2). The material is made of good quality. It has a nice black marble finish with some white streaks. The arch is a beautiful gold color that’s not “too gold.” The shade is perfect; it comes with a bottom layer so the bulb is not visible and blinding you, which I love. AND it comes with a bulb too! The only UNFORTUNATE problem is that it was too big for our space, so we’re having to return it :(, which we were so sad about because of how incredible the product was. We’ll just have to find a smaller one, but just incase you can’t tell by the image, it is VERY tall and archs VERY wide. We thought it would be okay because we have very tall ceilings, but for us, it made the room look smaller. So we just need the same type of lamp, just smaller. I highly recommend measuring before buying. We were just estimating based on pictures—haha our mistake! But other than that and if it works with your space, it’s PERFECT. Absolutely perfect. Can’t believe this lamp isn’t more expensive, to be honest. Great product!

I live in a "green" highrise which means that lighting is provided sparsely. My living room has no wired lighting and my two lamps weren't cutting it.I was looking for an Arc lamp that didn't sit too close to my head like an old hairdryer, that had a diffuser (I absolutely cannot look up in to a lightbulb), and that would light up the other side of my living room.The reviews had me a little worried because some were saying how HUGE it is. Then I looked closely at the customer photos and yes, in some instances, the lamp was probably not a good choice.I have a sectional that seats about 5 people comfortably and my ceilings are 9 ft. I also have plenty of room behind my couch for the large base + room to move it forward and backward if needed. The only other lamps I saw that were a consideration were lamps that either didn't have a diffuser or lamps that look like this one but had a lot of bad reviews (like not withstanding the weight of the arm and tipping forward). No WAY will this lamp have that problem.I finally just went for it and I'm SO HAPPY I DID!! Every time I walk in to my room now I am THRILLED with my purchase! Not only is it functional, it makes the room look better!Setting It Up: I am a 50 year old female and I did it myself but I would not recommend it. It all comes in one piece but you have to secure the sections with tiny screws before attaching to the base. I had to do this on the ground so I needed a LOT of padded space. Also, the tiny thread screw didn't line up on one section but they give you 2 extra which solved this for me. Once the arc arm is assembled (again I did this on the ground) I had to put the massive concrete filled base on it's side and line up the pole to it. I used something to prop it up and eventually got it done. Then lifting the thing up and over the couch assembled was another challenge. Do yourself a favor and have someone help you. Also, the slack of the cord that feeds through the tubes needs to be pulled down as much as possible in every step so be aware of that. The more assembled the pole is, the harder it gets. Wash your hands thoroughly before dealing with the shade/diffuser or use clean gloves.I Ditched The Included Bulb: I have a strong disdain for most LED bulbs. Most cast that cold bluish fluorescent type light. I prefer a warm tone around 3000k but that's not the most functional. Since I can't install dimmers in my apt. either, I decided to invest in some SmartBulbs for this lamp and my other ones too. OMG, game changer!!!!! My lamp can be super bright white, a soft amber, and 16M other colors/temperatures. Yes that's M as in million! I can turn it on/off, dim it, schedule it, change it, voice and App control it etc via my phone or voice commands. I personally use Nanoleaf bulbs because I am in the Apple Ecosystem and they are only $20/each. Tons of people use and love HUE. Whatever your platform, I HIGHLY recommend getting a smartbulb for this lamp. They also last some 25,000 hours. Be prepared to access your on/off switch at the base of the lamp if you use it with the existing bulb unless your outlet has a wall switch.The diffuser is very classy looking and is detachable. It allows a "glow" to shine through instead of an eye piercing glare. It is covered in the same linen-like material as the shade.I HIGHLY recommend this lamp! I have bought a lot of things from Amazon and I'm rarely disappointed, BUT THIS... THIS is something special :))) Shout out too to Safavieh. They are consistently a quality product! And this is no exception.I will say though that care should be taken when ordering this. It weighs a TON so having to return it will be an absolute chore. Measure carefully and ask lots of questions if you are in doubt.Love, love my lamp!

I would give this lamp 5 stars if it had a dimmer function. But it is fantastic quality, super heavy base and the price I paid (discounted a lot, my guess is because of not having a dimmer function perhaps) was convincing and I don't regret the purchase. I enjoy the lamp every day. :D

It took about a half hour to assemble this (though a surprisingly high percentage of that was just unboxing... It was well-packaged, and the instructions were quite clear.The antique bronze lamp color is beautiful and the included bulb is soft and warm. Definitely makes for a great light for a reading nook.The arc of the lamp curves up to about 6'4" and has a clearance similar to the recommended clearance for chandelier light fixtures in homes without high ceilings.Visually, this lamp is stunning for the price it was available at the time. I see similar quality pieces in the 500+ range from high end retailers.This is a really beautiful, modern arc lamp for nearly any style home, and I'm very happy with the purchase.

UPDATE: After a long email questionnaire that required pictures and a follow up phone call, they sent a replacement shade which arrived in good shape. Could have been better customer service, could have been worse.ORIGINAL REVIEW: The design if this lamp is beautiful but it arrived in bad shape inside of a weathered and strangely packed box. The shade was crushed in multiple places, the brass pins that hold the bottom part of the shade onto the shade frame we’re rusted and discolored the linens around them, and the power cord that snakes through the whole lamp was covered in brown (rust?) dust that got all over my hands and the floor. I expect much more for $200. I’ll update the review if Safavieh customer service comes through in an easy, convenient and cost-free manner.

This lamp is beautiful! Some lamps come with a shade you have to put together yourself. This lampshade was already made & made well. The under shield is also of great quality. The arch is sturdy & the whole thing was easy to put together. It actually took longer to unbox the lamp than to put together. It was easy enough for my 10 year old to help. For the cost of this lamp, its a great value for the money. I will add a pic once the room is complete.

It is tough to be the first buyer on Amazon - I know I rely heavily on other persons reviews of products before making final decisions to buy. This lamp; however, was worth the risk because it is absolutely gorgeous. It is tall enough for my 6’5” son-in-law to walk under and hovers perfectly over my end table for reading. I am so glad I was able to find one that was such great quality, heavy duty marble base and the brass is a nice antique so its not shiny. Couldn’t be any happier. Great find!
