Shame on Amazon for labeling this “Amazons Choice”
I really hate writing a bad review, I have a business and I understand when idiots want to rant about nonsense to get money back. That’s not why I am here.I am here because I just want to save others from going through what I went through. I almost always read reviews before I buy, but I didn’t on this one because I trusted the “Amazon’s Choice” label that’s put next to the rating. I figured I can’t go wrong.I don’t know pricing on bikes, and I take responsibility for that, if I knew that the price would lead to me saying “you get what you pay for” I would have bought a nicer bike, which, I’m going to have to end up doing now anyway. This bike is junk, it might as well be sitting in a dump somewhere. It’s garbage.I’ve ridden it maybe 4 times. Every single time I ride it (I’ve been trying to ride for about an hour to get a decent work out), every time I ride this bike the handle bar comes loose. The first time it came so loose it was just flopping around and almost falling off, I couldn’t believe it. I thought maybe I didn’t tighten it enough. So each time now before I ride, I have to tighten it as much as possible and every single time by the end of the hour it’s coming loose. Now on my last ride yesterday, not only was the handlebar coming loose, the left pedal is falling off. Keep in mind I’m not doing bike stunts or tricks, I’m not mountain biking on crazy trails. I am riding my bike around boston on flat easy to ride bike trails that aren’t strenuous. I am a novice rider who is barely even pushing the limits of the bike yet this piece of trash is falling apart right from under me as I ride it gently around bike trails in the city. It’s kind of a joke.Don’t waste your money, seriously. Spend a little more and get a real bike. Now I will have to do the same and just eat the loss because the return policy doesn’t let me return it anymore and I haven’t even had it a month.Enjoy the money you robbed me of, huffy, you’ll never get another dollar from me ever again.

Works as good as any cheap bike should
I bought an open box example of this bike and it works as good as any cheap bike should. Some assembly is required, but bikes are painfully easy to work on. The grip shifters that come with this bike aren't great, but you can upgrade them to a better shifter set for around $20-$40. This upgrade and a better seat will make your $200 bike feel like a $800 bike.

Great value if it’s on sale
For someone that does casual biking, this thing is awesome. I got it on sale and it’s amazing on gravel and pavement, so far that’s all I’ve tried it on but it handles likes champ. I used to be a bike builder so putting it together was extremely straight-forward, although I put together two of these and both had the pieces for the seat clamp sprawled all over the bottom of the box; very lucky they stayed in the box even with being shipped all the way over to Hawaii. The seat isn’t that comfortable but that’s what to expect from a cheap bike, and you can always swap it out for whatever seat fits what you’ll use it for. Gearing needed to be adjusted just slightly, and works great even on bumpy terrain. I’m about 220 pounds so I tightened up the tail spring a good amount and it glides over bumps, fantastic deal.

Good enough, for the price
Sort of got finessed with this one for 180 or so dollars, however, it's 'fine' for the price, especially for a beginner and a commuter, I guess... Hard to really even call it a 'mountain bike', this is pretty sketch right out of the box and shouldn't see any rough use until it gets checked out and tuned up after assembly. The stock seat is horribly uncomfortable, the handlebar is a little frustrating to align, and honestly, this design is almost like a hybrid bike that's way heavier with knobby tires and mostly useless fork suspension. For me, it's decent enough for the abysmal sidewalks and bike paths in my city, but most certainly not fast or speedy enough to compete on the road, at least not at a cost-effective effort with its weight and lack of aerodynamics. That being said, still a decent enough commuting bike, not the best but it certainly gets the job done, and certainly beats walking once you replace the seat and get some cargo racks and baskets. Though, I personally wouldn't go too hard on this thing for actual mountain-cycling, it creaks and clamors already on a flat sidewalk as is.

Great Bike at a good price!
Easy to put together and get on the road. Only adjusting the brakes took me some time. Like the gear selection and it works smoothly. Will probably change the seat out later but that's a matter of preference.Overall a great bike!
