MUJInail clipper Made in Japan Small 6cm

This nail clipper is extremely well made and sturdy. The cutting surfaces are sharp enough to handle toenails, and the file on the underside of the top lever is startingly effective.

These clippers are amazing. The cut is clean and leaves crisp, smooth edges. I used the seller Japan Super Fine Select Shop because they had a 98% to avoid getting a dupe, something that is apparently common with Japanese imported items. i bought my first one while i was overseas on business. I just needed to trim an unexpected chipped finger nail. I was shocked how incredible this thing was for such a low price and simple function. The blade is very sharp, the handle has a built in abrasive for filing, and the construction is very robust for durability. I liked it so much that when i returned home i was determined to get several more, one for each bathroom, dresser, and 1st Aid Kit. Unfortunately, MUJI shut down most of their American stores when COVID struck. Thankfully, the price on Amazon finally dropped to reasonable. And yes, I bought quite a few...

This is a very good clipper. It is very sharp and cuts cleanly and with comparatively little effort. I comes with a plastic sleeve that is both a nail clipping catcher and, I suppose, to prevent keys and other pocket "things" from entangling with the clipper. In use, I found the jaws of the clipper too close/narrow so that I had to work to maneuver my fingernail between the blades to position the nail for a cut. That was annoying but did not prevent getting a good cut. Perhaps, for me, the more annoying small-ish detail that I didn't like was that the blades are a bit too straight. I like **a bit** more curvature in the blades so that the I need only 1 or 2 cuts on a nail rather than 2 or 3 or 4 cuts to finish a nail. The more cuts the more likely to leave a sharp snaggle at the end/beginning of one or more of these multiple cuts. Finally, these clippers do not have a built-in file as many others do. Thus, those snaggles have to be smoothed with a separate nail file or chased with a delicate use of the clipper.

File is built into the lever, so it’s nice and sturdy. And the file is SHARP, and works well. It’s not just some stamped flimsy thing that almost works.And the clippers themselves are sharp, too.I do wish the radius was a little bigger, (that is, shallower curve. Not straight, exactly, but not so tight a curve, either. But it works like a F charm.Can’t recommend highly enough.

Bought this based on a Wirecutter recommendation and just love it. Really easy to use and makes a clean cut. Ended up buying a second one, and a larger one for toenails.

I bought these specifically for the clipping catching, but sadly, that was a fail. The clippers are nice and sharp and the textured surface gives a good grip.

My sister bought a pair of these nail clippers back from her trip to Japan.All I can say is after the family tried out these clippers, we all can't go back to the regular drugstore ones. These cut my nails so swiftly and cleanly that I almost I look forward to cutting my nails every 2 weeks.I don't use the nail file on the handle because these cut my nails so finely, I'm pleasantly surprised with these to be honest.Also, I liked these Muji nail clippers so much that I bought a bunch of them so that I could give them out as gifts. If that's not saying something I don't know what will. I'm hoping to convert my friends and family to these budget friendly nail clippers.
