Larger than the Coleman mantles, but worked great for my gas lantern on the front lawn. Brighter and a good value

I still prefer my propane lantern when camping. I dont want to have to worry about batteries, or charging. I normally stick with the brandname mantels, but wanted to give these a shot. They burned in fine, and seem to put off the same level of soft light. I cant speak to how long they last yet, but so far they have met the need. The ties could be just a little longer but thats not a deal breaker

The media could not be loaded. My summer home is off grid. I have no utilities so when I built the home, I wired it for electrical lights that can run off of a generator, but I also put in Humphries gas lights. They work just like a regular Coleman lantern only they run off of propane and you just flip a switch to turn the gas on and then hold a lighter or a match to the mantle to light it.I ordered these mantles just to have some spares laying around because I generally tend to break three or four a year. As soon as they arrived, I immediately installed one because one of my mantles has been broken for a couple of weeks. The first thing I noticed with these mantels is the size. They’re absolutely huge, like two or three times the size of a standard mantle. They also have the string to tie them on as opposed to that wire that is so difficult to get around a Humphries light. And these particular mantles came with some of the longest strings I’ve ever seen on a mantle. That’s nice because these Humphrey lights are set up a little bit different than the Coleman lantern and it’s nice to have the extra length on the string to be able to get it tied really well.I’m not completely certain if the extra size gives off any additional light or not, I certainly think it did though. Either way they’re nice and I like them, just if you’re burning off the mantle before lighting it and you’re doing it in the house, expect a lot of extra fumes because these are so much larger than standard mantles. Aside from that, these are great and they work exactly as you would expect them to. There’s not a whole lot that you can say about these, but I guess I will add that I feel like these are a really good price compared to buying the Coleman or the Humphrey brand, which are pretty difficult to find anymore.

When we got these, they appeared to be larger than the original Coleman mantles. They are much larger, but do still work just fine. We have 3 vintage Coleman lanterns which use propane and these mantles, even though they are larger, still do the job just perfectly! I want to add that these have a drawstring tie which we prefer. The drawstring style made it easier for us to change out the mantle. Will be ordering another set soon and would recommend. Thank you!
