Don't bother

Worst printer i have ever used. 2 weeks and an extra £40+ in and still not printing. After sale customer service is absolutely shocking i wish I'd never bothered. Broken hot end assembly instructions for a completely different machine firmware that won't upload no matter what you do.. do your self a favour buy pre built.

Brilliant large 3D printer diy kit!

The media could not be loaded. Brilliant for a diy kit. Easy to follow build instructions! A thoroughly enjoyable process building it. It took a few evenings to assemble after work... all working as expected. Tested and working as expected. Upgraded a few bits afterwards and more to come to achieve the cleanest print! Thanks for producing a 3D printer kit with such a huge volume... the sky is the limit!

A Second look

Had to return this item after it arrived, thought the auto levelling sensor was configured, it is aimed at the hobbyist and will take configuring to get running, so its a free sensor with a machine that can be made to run it.Overall the machines large footprint area meant that the print bed was better supported than others that the supports only cover the middle third of the plate. It has a light designed boden extruder setup, but the cooling is a free standing attachment with no directional casings, so it needs that addressed. The cables are a bit all over the place and all the connectors are standard lengths. The large print area and the large footprint (long base) mean it will print more stable with less of the gantry judder and shake problems than those that cut the footprint and run the hot bed overhanging the back and front meaning the support for the bed is reduced to the central third of its area.It is a shame it was no good for me as my dyslexia is crippling the ability to level the bed n others I though I was getting an auto levelling system, but it was just another DIY reference, but at least it comes with the sensor for you to do just that. Good try, fair design and has potential. A great starting machine for the hobbyist and the tinkerer. Had to go another way to get one with an actual auto levelling function fitted and working on a machine.

No info on the SD card

The media could not be loaded. The item came the next day was nicely packed, the only problem I have come across is that the SD card dose not have any software or instructions on it, so I can not assemble the printer it took the best part of week to put together and we had to find the right instructions online and had to pay for someone to come most of the part are faulty and it dose not work, would grateful appreciate any help thank you

FLSUN 3D Printer Plus Prusa i3 Diy Kit

The media could not be loaded. I have started the assembly of FLSUN 3D Printer Plus Prusa i3 Diy Kit, (auto-leveling version) and I encountered many inaccuracies (I am of profession a mechatronic; robotics and industrial automation mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and electric prototyper)To start with, the whole structure is flimsy, feeble and might not resist the use you sold it for. I need it to make large prototypes (this is still a small printer but it was the biggest I could find on Amazon, unfortunately)Some M3 nuts did not even had the thread in them for instance, I had to cut new thread from zero (I have the tools, but many buyers do not have them)The number of nuts and bolts are exact to single unit, no spares, what if I have no knowledge to cut threads and the tools to do that? This is the reason why in my trade we always send 10% more nuts and bolts than needed.Other nuts and bolts are provided with no purpose, they do not appear in the manual, nor are they needed in the process, in reality they are just to add weight to the parcel when delivered, no problem, they go to my spare stock. The fitting process is with corner aligners held by one bolt only for each piece to connect... total 2 bolts per each corner, flimsy, it needs minimum 4 bolts per corner piece to make a good alignment and stable in time, besides the M4 square nuts are too small for this AL profile, let alone the AL profile is too thin itself.Another issue, the feeder stepper motor you want me to place it on a top corner of the machine, do you realize that when the machine is working starting from bottom, the feeder pushes the filament through the tube for over 600 mm before it reaches the extruder? a more elastic filament will not even go forward, will bend and twist in the guiding pipe. (same thing happens with the MIG welding machines if the distance is too long, and the MIG welding machines push metal wire, not plastic) This feeder should be right on top of the extruder so that the pushed filament travels the minimum possible. Thus you either need two feeders, one close to the reel like now and one on top of the extruder, or one right on top of the extruder on the same piece that holds the extruder and the extruder fan, I will try to come up with something, but I am disappointed by your factory, you just copied an early version of Prusa without improving anything, like you have no engineering team, just robots that cut and count bits. There is no ducted air piece to pass the fan air for the filament funnel cooling down to the printed filament either, I will have to design myself one and print it for my own use.Not to mention that your instructions are lacking info, jumping over steps (for me is no problem but I trust not everybody is me) and the tooling indication is at least hilarious.Today was electronics and wiring day, much fun.it ended up they sent me for instance the cables to the LCD screen and command buttons from their 200X200X200 version (I bought the 300X300X400 version), only 600 mm long; therefore too short, in fact I need them 750mm long either with the screen on top bar or with the screen on the front bottom bar (both indicated by them in the manual) but I now must place the screen on the side bar somewhere to get closer to the main-board, and the main board instructions say it stays on the rear bar, but due to this I must move it on the same side bar with the screen or nothing works. To top the issues, there is no filament holder included in the kit or foreseen in the manual, I have to make that up too.Software time next days, I am already preoccupied...Will see how this ends, but as far as now, I am not very happy with the quality of your engineering, to be polite.Update, just in the middle of going dual direct drive extruder modifications. As you might realize from the above video, I reinforced the structure to stop it form wobbling at sudden back and forth movements of the nozzle when printing. Also designed and printed, than fitted, two Z axis rod aligners to stop them from trembling when printing with the Z axis at the top. Also designed and tested an Air Duct piece, 8 prototypes, came out fine now useless to me as I change the system. But I will sell the .STL file on Amazon soon for those that need to print one for themselves. Also designed and printed, now in use, sound muffling legs, basically 4 cups that are bolted under the frame and hold a tennis ball each. Simple and efficient.Going dual is going postal. After all the struggle, design of a dual head adapter, printing, re design, printing, etc, finally all fits in place, I go cabling, all cables find their match on the Arduino. but... it still works single head only, for the second nozzle heater receives zero input from Arduino, weird enough it also shows constant 100 Celsius (it is room temp in reality) and cannot understand why unless if they sold me a broken board hoping I never go dual. And that is my guess for it. Broken board, defective, your call, probably reject from the production line sold as good as new hoping I do not go dual nozzle. Not happy.

Good printer

Printer works great. Takes quite a while to fine tune the settings, but once the settings are dialled in, it's a brilliant machine.

Budget

Good printer in theory to me along time to sort out though

Good value for money

First FLSUN kit I've purchased, all in all ok but needs to be treated with care. Acrylic plates crack if over tighten, and only cut timing belts after checking if lengths correct! Good platform to add after market upgrades to. Once built, prints ok, but wiring harness instructions a bit lacking, so you need to resolve neat wiring harness yourself.
