Loud hum or buz on Foscam 19900
I have a number of outdoor IP cameras and when I saw the marketing of this, I thought it might be a nice upgrade for the 2 quid microphone I have on my Foscam F19900. When it arrived it looked well made and is much heavier than any small mic I have had and I have lots of them. I therefore had eager expectations when I plugged it in. Unfortunately those expectations were not met as there was a very loud hum or buz type interference. So loud that it was unusable even for cctv. I tried an extension cable and moving the mic from the camera but that made no difference.I then tried t on another Foscam F19900 that I have on a different part of the house and the interference was much reduced. Its still there which is annoying but at least its usable for security purposes.My very minimal understanding is this can be cause by the way the cameras are wired up and I have had difficulty with this camera before. I tried an expensive powered mic which was the same as this, so I moved the mic to another camera. Strange that this camera works ok with a 2 GBP mic, albeit with a low level of background noise. I also have a Foscam 19828 which is close to my router and that works well with any mic except this one. All my cameras are hard wired and not used on wifi. I tried a Ground Loop Noise Isolator but that does not fix the problem.

good mic ... but
Good clear mic but prone to static interference from power supplies etc..... eg. buzzing but sounds picked up are clear.

Works Very Well
I bought this with a little bit of hesitation for use with a Hikvision PoE camera.It works perfectly. Once i got the audio settings on the camera set it works very well. The audio is good considering the mic is situation inside the cameras cable compartment.Does what it says on the tin.

Works great, the 3.5mm connection is rare but was what I was after
Works with D-link dcs-7010l camera, not the loudest on video playback (but I haven’t tried different gain settings in blue iris yet!) but less background noise than my other cameras with built in mics.Plug and play took 5seconds to install3.5mm connection is rare and just what I needed

Did not work emailed foscam and was told it not compatible with my camera although it was sold by foscam with my camera as an optional add on 🙁
