just what i wanted!
just what i wanted! I read reviews that this could not accommodate a 5x3 flag and that is completely false. It worked GREAT!

works well
feels a little flimsy and i’m worried it will break if i extend it too aggressively, but it works great for lightweight totems at music events

Flimsy. Not for any real use
Too flimsy. I put the flag on it and it's bending jsut standing still in the wind filly extended. The tip bends like a fishing pole with a fish on the line.

Reviews aren't everything.
I honestly believed for the price and reviews I'd purchased a good item. However, the top clasp broke, allowing the eye hook to fall off. It wasn't repairable during a protest either. Very disappointed for the money spent/reviews misled me.

Ok..... I want to love it because it's $10 but It....did break.....
but i am still deciding if the advantages and price might make this more a disposable that I should just carry a few... extraBut if i find say a $20 more durable option I would buy it!(For ravers/festival people)Sooooo.. I didn't use a full sized flag*36"x60"* it's way to heavyso I did 2 of the 11"x14" flags super light *actually had trouble with how lite the flags ended up being*It's snagged when I was collapsing it... I looked and there was just a tiny dent but... after attempting to ease back it snapped....Super light material super flimsy but if you use it right it's hmmmm just an expensive disposable item so don't expect it to handle muchDefinitely waaaaay more convenient then most alternatives

Pretty beefy for a telescoping pole. Potential as a useful tool.
I have a fascination with telescoping rods, and am always on the lookout for a new item. This has a great open/closed length ratio. It's 15 inches fully closed (counting the protruding lanyard knob) and almost 10 feet fully open (9' 10 1/4"). the widest segment is just over 5/8" outside diameter, and the final segment (the smallest one) is just over 1/4" in outer diameter, so you could, in theory attach another smaller telescoping antenna and keep going! They've attached a small brass-colored pole topper to the end, that could be modified to hold a magnet or maybe cut threads into. The pole, fully extended has some sway and flex, but it's not too bad, since it only tapers to 1/4". I don't know if I would trust it to hold a very large flag without buckling. But with some light modification, I could definitely use this as a very very long magnetic pickup for dropped keys and screws. The entire pole weighs 166 grams.Extras:It came with a sliding attachment point, and another attachment point on the finial end. (I removed both). It also came with 4 flag clips (perfectly average quality). There is a pretty standard cord lanyard included with about 10 inches of cord folded into a 5 inch flat loop. It's slightly elasticated, giving about an inch of stretch. The foam handle is just press fit on, but I couldn't take it off without cutting it. Once I did, it came off cleanly, making the pole thin and streamlined. The lanyard knob/end stopper is crimped into place with 4 point crimps. It should pop out easily if you want to shave off some length from the closed form factor. I can't tell how the end flagpole finial is attached, but it seems to be on there pretty good.

Will brake
Terrible quality, broke very quickly. Just buy one of the non-telescoping ones unless your plan is just to hold one of those tiny flags reeeeaaallyy high. It cant handle anything bigger :/
