Christmas in Mouseville and best friends share the reward!!
We bought this book to be part of our Reading Collection for our two boys (6-years old and 3-years old) and it has become a "grab that one too" favorite for our 3-year old at bedtime as the negotiations for "1 book, no 5 books" winds down the the acceptable 2 or 3. It also falls into the "please! read it again!" category as well. The only reason this book doesn't get my "5-Stars" is because Mouse Vill cut the tree down!! Yikes! My parents had allowed my "kid-request" of "let's get a potted tree and plant it in the back yard" one year and we followed that routine for a few years so I guess I got too spoiled to be able to enjoy this part of the story. It could have been a brilliant story has the villagers moved the tree to the town square and replanted it for "next year too" , But, Oh-Well. Mama and Papa sometimes edit stories in the telling so we do have our chances to remind about conservation and such. Plus we live in a neighborhood that celebrates Chinese New Year with little orange trees in pots kept in the house for a week or two and then recycled - unfortunately, no back yards in the big city for replanting though.... But maybe those trees do get planted again some place - not sure, but we can always hope. Our family just really wishes that Mouse Vill will wake up and make a change the next time they find that Biggest Christmas Tree Ever. since the one in this story is kindling by now.

Don’t spend your money
Boring story about two mice who want to have the biggest Christmas tree. There is no real Christmas spirit behind it and no lesson. Considering it’s supposed to be about Christmas, you’d think there’d be a story line pertaining to giving. Nope.

Great Christmas book.
The mice are in a race to get the biggest Christmas tree to decorate their homes since it is a tradition in their town. The pair of cousins have a hard time finding their tree since everyone got up early and bought the best ones. The story is a heartfelt one, where two mice join together to find a tree for their family but end up finding one that would be appreciated by more than what they planned for. Great Christmas book. I hope I didn't butcher the story. Lol!

they look to be something that will be enjoyed for years
Christmas gifts for grand-kids ... but, upon first glance, they look to be something that will be enjoyed for years.

The story is not as good as the "Pumpkin
We are big fans of The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, so I was excited to pick up a holiday version, if you will. The story is not as good as the "Pumpkin," ut we still enjoyed reading this during the holiday season.

Quite boring
This is not a very entertaining story. Even my 4 year old quit in the middle of the story and he loves to read.

Cute story
Ordered this to add to our Christmas book collection this year. Definitely not my favorite and a little wordy for me and my 4 year old for bed time reading. But the story overall was cute.

Simple and entertaining
This is almost a version of city mouse country mouse, except these two friends from different families, come together and work together to make everyone happy. I liked the way the two main characters have their story told, side by side, allowing children to see the clear similarities. A nice story which became a fast favourite with the kids (3yrs & 6yrs).

It's ok
The story is kind of annoying to read but it's probably fine for younger kids.
