I bought this for my daughter that just returned from Japan. She loves sushi and onigiri and has lovedusing this kit to recreate it at home. It was a great deal!

I’ve never made sushi before but I love sushi so I bought this with high hopes. I cannot even tell you how happy I was with this. The instructions were so easy to follow and when I finished making my first roll, I couldn’t even believe I was the one who made it. As a beginner, this kit has done wonders for me!

I've gotten a few sushi making kits over the years and I got this one specifically for the knife in it. I got a similar set three years ago and the knife was my absolute favorite for making sushi. We moved last year and somewhere between points A and B my sushi knife vanished. When this set came up for review and I saw the knife in the photos I was ecstatic and had to have it.The kit arrived in great condition and it is packaged like a gift. It would make an attractive present. Everything inside the box was neatly packed and placed in an attractive manner. All of the elements are good quality, and aside from the sushi bazooka I will be using almost everything in the set fairly regularly.The rice shapers in this set are nicer than the ones that I have gotten in all of my previous sets and are definitely my favorite. I like that the animal shapes have lids to keep the presser contained when in storage so you don't have to rummage around the box or bag that you keep all of your shapers in to find both parts when you want to use them. The ball roller is the standard shape and size but the plastic is thicker and the handle is sturdier than the other rice ball rollers that I have.The knife is sharp and slices well. The chopsticks are average great for everyday use. I like that the fish pattern on the end of each chopstick is the same design as the other chopsticks that I have so they all match. The rice paddle is perfect for everyday use with the rice cooker, not just for when you are making sushi.The little bunny chopstick holders are cute and made from ceramic. They're easy to clean and they add a bit of fun to the table. The soy sauce dishes are lightweight wood and easy to clean. The baster brush is a standard plastic and silicone brush and it works well for oiling the ball roller. The avocado slicer is very basic but works well for opening and slicing avocados.The bamboo mats are cheaper with long strings that hang off the ends but they are sturdy and work well. I recommend covering your mat with plastic wrap in both directions prior to rolling your sushi with it- it will make creation and clean up a bit easier.The sushi bazooka is good quality and is identical to the others that I have used in the past. The first time I made sushi it was with a sushi bazooka and it was a fun way to learn, but honestly I find rolling with the mat to be much easier to do. If you use the sushi bazooka, be sure to oil it lightly with the basting brush before putting your rice inside, otherwise it gets a bit difficult to remove/shoot out the sushi.At the time of my review this set is selling for 21.99, and I would buy the kit with my own money at that price.

I actually got this kit for my son for Christmas and he just got around to using it. He loves it! It includes all of the things you need to make your own sushi at home. It even included a small recipe book which helped him greatly. Great for beginners - teen to adult. This is an excellent value for the price. I was actually kind of shocked by all of the items included. Everything was decent quality and more than sufficient for beginners. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a gift or someone wanting to make their own sushi.

Where has this kit been my entire life?! First, I have to say that our family is obsessed with sushi so this kit made sense for us. I have two teens and a toddler and they had the best time making sushi rolls for the first time ever! Going out to get sushi can be super pricey for a family of 5 and this kit was so reasonably priced I figured that is was worth taking the risk and boy ho boy am I so happy that I ended up being right.The best part about this kit is you can make anything you can dream of. And it’s SO easy. We created an awesome little spread with our various seafood “meats”, some fresh veggies and avocado, sauces, seaweed and some yummy rice. Basically all of our sushi favorites. The most important tip that makes this kit work well is the RICE. You can’t just use any regular rice. Find a recipe for sushi rice and you’ll find that making the sushi rolls with this kit is super easy. If you use regular rice will it still work? Absolutely. This kit has a really cool bazooka tube that compresses the roll and you can just shoot it out. However, while trying to eat the roll, using regular rice just crumbles as you eat. Having the right rice pretty much makes this kit the best invention in the world and will keep you far away from going out to the overpriced restaurants. This kit is that good. Plus, there’s nothing better than buying your own fresh ingredients and knowing where they came from, knowing that you made these rolls with clean hands and so forth.We are going to buy a couple more kits or at least some of the add ons so we can all make sushi rolls at the same time. All three of my kids had a ton of fun creating their own sushi rolls and rolling them with the bamboo wraps. It’s more than just a sushi making kit, it’s a fun night for the family! And hint, hint…did you know that when children make their own food their are more likely to eat it?! Even vegetables! This kit is such a winner in so many ways.
