This is definitely not a cocus wood flute and it certainly isn't a great offer. It is evident on inspection that this is a cheaper wood and a glance down the flute shows the poor workmanship. Varnish globs are visible on the outside.

I can't take it apart, as the wood has swollen, despite liberal coats of cork grease, however that doesn't matter.I was a pro standard flautist once and wondered if I could make a nice noise on this keyless flute, but it is a lovely instrument. The harmonics are excellent - this is a good indication of a fine instrument.It's been fun learning to play this so far, off course, I'm stuck in the world of D major and related keys, but no worries, it's a rich tone and great for Celtic music.There's a crack in the foot joint, but to be honest, at that price, what the hell. It's the sound that matters.
