This is a JP Fluid Control semi-direct operating 2 way solenoid valve with G 1 inch threads and a 230 V AC coil. The valve has a plastic housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 25 mm (approximately 1 inch). The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. The valve is suitable for pressures of 0 - 8 bar (0 - 116 psi) and a maximum temperature of 80° C (176° F). The valve has a Kv-value of 10.24 m3/h, which translates to a flow rate of 170.7 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 11.84, which means 11.84 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For simple applications it is often enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator (). The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suitable for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected. Pros:- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types- Delivered including coil and connector- Semi-direct operated valves work from 0 bar, which makes them suitable for low pressure or gravity fed systems, circulating closed circuits or even rough vacuums- EPDM is suitable for (hot) water, neutral fluids and many chemicals- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 ratingCons:- EPDM is not suitable for oils and fats- If your pressure differential is always higher than 0.5 bar, an indirect operated solenoid valve could be an alternative with better energy efficiency and lower total costs- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and
