Very good eplacement as it replaced my original remote as I broke some years ago. Remote was dropped on a tile floor and the glass face of remote shattered.

Only had for a few days but when you first pick it up it feels cheaply made. It does require batteries unlike the Apple TV remote. The setup was quick and easy. Very easy to control. Power turns the TV off. Holding the menu button down you can put the Apple TV to sleep. Only thing I really hate is I cant turn down the volume on my bluetooth ear buds which the Apple TV remote would do. Navigation is a bit easier with this remote than the OEM remote but its also harder to scroll through a tv show to get to a spot but not that big a deal. Its a good remote for the money and works well but nothing amazing

This works correctly per the specifications. However, this an IR only remote. So if your Apple TV is hidden in a cabinet or behind your TV you will not be able to use the remote unless you have an IR blaster of some kind. The Apple TV remote is wireless so it works without line of sight to the Apple TV. It’s still a great value if your Apple TV is out in the open. Just beware of the limitations. I think this should be added to the product description. It is when talking about working with other devices but not the Apple TV itself.

This remote is great! My husband greatly disliked the original Apple remote especially the trackpad for skipping ahead.When I found this I was super excited. Literally did not have to do anything to set it up except pop in two AA batteries. Clicked the button and it immediately controlled my Apple TV box.Set up to pair it it to my Sanyo TV literally took 10 seconds - just had to hold down two buttons on the remote and press ok.I love that I can now power off the TV and control the Apple TV using only one remote. The “mute” button is a great feature as well.I also like that it’s a larger than the original Apple TV remote - harder to lose! :)Excellent price point as well.

This remote's infrared has a wider range, allows you to control volume on your tv, and runs on good, old-fashioned AAA batteries!When I saw there were no directions to pair with a Sanyo TV, I emailed them, and later that day, they emailed me directions to pair with Sanyo and it worked, so they definitely get customer service points from me!Only downside is that the remote doesn't allow you to hold down menu and play to restart the apple tv, nor does it allow you to hold play during the menu screen to turn off the box.

I got this product and it worked for a little over month. Just long enough to be past the return period, before it stopped working. Contacted the seller about this and they kept sending messages on things to do that would not fix the problem. My advice spend a little extra and get a new Apple TV remote. This one is not worth it.

I finally got sick of my Apple TV touchpad remote and was looking for an alternative remote - this one is great. It controlled my Samsung TV (bought in 2009) right out of the box and took a few simple steps to pair with my Apple TV. The only things that are missing are (a) bluetooth connectivity so that I don't have to always point the remote at the Apple TV and (b) a rechargeable battery. But for $16 it was worth every penny - the silicon case fits perfectly and the original Apple TV touchpad remote is going in the trash.
