A VERY happy customer.
First of all, i would like to state that this product was used on an Xbox 360, and only needed one use to fix.I was starting to have trouble with my Xbox 360, it was having trouble reading disks. Naturally i just assumed it was overheating and so i switched it off and left a fan over it to cool it down. The fan was on for 6 hours straight just to be safe. However, when switching the Xbox back on, and attempting to play a game, i was being prompted to open the tray, which only happens if/when there is no/unreadable disk in place. after many attempts of cleaning the disk, trying other games, and blowing into every nook and cranny of the Xbox i could find, i was still having the same problem. At this point it had become very frustrating as i have previously heard Xbox's have a tendency to fail. After assuming the worst, and thinking that my Xbox had been broken by something, i started to price up how much it would cost to get it fixed/replaced. I did not like the odds of getting a new one. So being enthusiastic about fixing it myself, i searched the interwebs and someone had tried using a disk cleaner, but to no prevail. Searching Amazon, i found this cheap one. So what if it doesn't work right? you cant exactly complain for the price. So i took my chances and gave it a shot. When the item came, i followed the instruction, which are also very easy to understand. Although the item comes with fluid, you have to pierce the funnel with a pin. when placed in the Xbox, it wouldnt run, so for the viewers who have the same problem. WHAT I DID: Open the tray, get a hairdyer and blow it into all the holes/openings of the Xbox, quickly insert the disk, and bang (you may have to try different strengths) on top of the xbox where the disk would be inside, do this untill the Xbox reads the disk. When running, the disk gets to work straight away, and the instructions are incredibly easy. It literally took me 2 minutes to fix my xbox. a problem which had been occuring for a number of weeks, was fixed with app £3.00 and two minutes worth of time. strange huh?Overall, the product is excellent! (it was for me anyway) gets to work straight away! only takes a number of minutes!BEST PART?IT IS CHEAP, AND IT WORKS!i would recommend this item to anyone having trouble with disk reading!

Quick Delivery, disturbing noises but good product.
Item was received within 48 hours of ordering so excellent service. As said in other reviews, the top of the solution bottle does need piercing to release the solution, but I popped a drop onto the cloth attached to the CD, and placed the CD into my DVD player which had been playing up for months, either taking several tries to load a disc, or more often than not, completely failing to recognise a disc had been put in.The CD told me to go to track 2 for english instructions, then move to track 9 when I heard a noise. I became concerned as track 9 was just a series of worrying whirring from my player and not music as described, but after reading reviews and seeing that track 2 is the actual cleaning, decided to take my chances and eject the disc. When I put a DVD in to test the player, it loaded instantly - therefore job done and at a good price!

a review with more detail
The reviews for this product seem to be quite a mixed bag and this is no surprise given the diversity of devices out there with CD/DVD drives - I think it's fair to say that no corrective product is guaranteed to work with every single piece of equipment but at 3 quid there isn't much to lose. I also think there's a need for a review with a bit more actual detail as to what this product does so I hope this is of help. The disk supplied appears to be a standard CD with two small brushes, each a bit less than a centimetre in width, glued halfway across each radius of the disk on opposite sides. The 'cleaning' fluid, I'm guessing, is probably a very dilute detergent - it does froth when shaken. I used to have a cleaning kit for a tape transport years ago that had a solvent/distillate for the metal parts and a mild detergent for the rubber parts and I detect no smell of isoproposol or similar with this fluid. Upon placing the disk in the drive an American voice (over some muzak) instructs the listener to select track 2 for English instructions whereupon the same voice instructs the selection of track 9 after the sounding of a flat tone which happens after a few seconds. Track 9 plays the same muzak for a few more seconds whereupon the voice announces the process is complete! So that was pretty straight forward and it worked! In my case I have a multi-changer hi-fi that has suffered from being in the same room in which I've been busy with diy and has been subject to all kinds of nasty dust not least of which plaster dust which is very fine indeed. I hadn't been able to get this hi-fi to read any disks for quite some time but now it reads and plays everything I put in it so that was money well spent and I can only hope you have as positive an experience as I've had. As a side note I also used this cleaner disk on another multi-changer hi-fi I have the occasional problem with and track 9 didn't seem to play though I could hear the disk spinning so that is an indicator that this disk may not work exactly the same way, or at all, with some CD players; at 3 pounds the bottom line is it's worth a try - good luck.

It is what it is!
The concept has been around for a long time and I have used CD/DVD cleaners before; generally speaking, they are what they are - cheap but functional things. This product is exactly that. It is cheap, but functional and as a result, useful but not great. If you are looking for an amazing gadget that will change your life, this is not it. If you are looking to clean your CD/DVD player for only a few of your hard-earned coins, then you are in luck - buy one!

Excellent
Very good quality. Tried it a few times before it worked . Didn’t have sound instructions as my cd player never worked. Worth the money.
