Effective & Cheap
I have a number of internal hard drives, from previous machines, which I needed to recover data from. This cheap and good quality device gave me immediate access to my drives for a fraction of the cost of a decent caddy. The device has it’s own switchable power supply so a drive can be left connected but powered down if required. It’s a cheap solution if you have a few spare drives you need to check out.

Value for money
Perfect product! I had an old hard drive sitting at home from a PC that went onto pastures new. As it was a bigger HDD, I attached a power cable and it read everything perfectly. I now have all my photos, documents, etc. back and now actually using this product and the HDD attached to my router to make a 60GB home storage network for files. Frees up loads of PC storage too!

Works great, the way it's designed could be better though.
Working fine with several hard drives I tried, ranging from 180GB to 8TB. Power button is handy to have in case you have a drive linked to equipment that won't power down the USB when idle. There are some caveats though:- The USB cable is very short, less than two feet. This caused a headache when trying to find a flat surface for the hard drive near to my computer's USB3 port at the rear. Depending on your setup, this might not be an issue.- The USB cable is also integrated. You can remove the power lead (it's not required when using 2.5" drives e.g. SSDs or laptop HDD) however the USB is built into the housing so if the cable breaks or frays etc. there is no way to replace it.- Both the data and SATA power connectors are rigid and wider than necessary. This ensures that the drive is held fast by the adapter, though at the same time one needs to be extra careful, as grabbing the housing the wrong way could snap the connectors off, rendering the unit useless. I would've preferred separate connectors, each held by a short lead - same as on most SATA to USB converters. The dust cover is useless, it's going to get lost unless I leave it in its original box. This is a very minor issue however. Not sure how long this unit will last under steady usage, but so far so good.

Worked great, thanks. Handy to have around for fault-finding on external disks and working with NAS disks.

Very easy to use however I used the Samsung Data Migration software as opposed to the Sarbent offering. It has a very handy LED activity light and well constructed. Well worth the mone

Real quick and easy to use, a bargain!
I have a stack of sata drives that I needed to clear off. This enabled me to do it with no hassle at all. Well worth it.

Useful, but having the thunderbolt 3 connector (usb C) did not improve speed.
Thunderbolt 3 USB C connector only relevant to mac computers, USB 3 standard A is more practical because there is no speed gain.
