A good camera for the money but is it for you?
I've been using this for about 3 years now, and I give it five stars based on the fact that it has lasted very well and been very enjoyable to use. You must remember that this has a small sensor, it will not perform well in low light with moving subjects and it does have its limitations, but that is the same for every camera from different manufacturers that is built with these specifications. If you are very fussy about image quality and want the best results then you need to spend a lot more than this, but it's not aimed at that kind of photographer. This is a Jack of all trades master of none that is just handy to have with you for a variety of situations. If I want better images I take a camera with changeable lenses and bigger sensors. The video features are pretty impressive for a camera in this price range. This is a perfectly acceptable super zoom camera, if that's all you need, and it is capable of taking some nice photos at a huge range of distances. I advise anyone to do their research before spending money on cameras so you understand what you're buying and whether it will suit you.

Capable
I bought a Sony point and shoot off eBay with X 20 zoom and I was happy with this compared to a smart phone. I enjoyed the camera and managed to get some great pictures that wouldn't be possible on a smart phone. I then reached a point where I needed manual controls as getting certain shots was impossible.I wanted a better camera, better zoom and manual controls. I looked at mirrorless and DSLR but quickly found out a decent telephoto lens would cost a small fortune. I then looked into bridge cameras and at 1 inch sensors but the cost was an issue again. The FZ82 had all the bells and whistles with the 4k options and when compared to some slightly older DSLR's it didn't come out too badly on comparison sites. I have fortunately found that the image quality is a step up from my Sony even though the sensors have the same 18MP, better Auto focus options, loads more features and better results. The manual controls allow more artistic control and also correction if auto doesn't quite look right. There is a big step up from a more basic camera and to take good photos you do need to spend a lot of time knowing how to use all the settings. To start with I wasn't very impressed with the camera and thought of sending it back but that was just me feeling not very confident with it. As I have practiced and played around I have been able to get good photos and the 4k options are what boost the camera and enable it to beat a lot of DSLR entry level cameras with the video. You won't be getting award winning pictures with this and low light performance is bad but overall it ticks a lot of boxes for an amateur. For the price it is a very good deal, acceptable pictures that beat smartphones but not something that will replace DSR / mirrorless.

It’s good but…
The media could not be loaded. A nice size capable camera, not great in low light conditions, if you want to do Astro photography then you need an SLR camera. The zoom is amazing as you can see with the moon in this video, tons of options, sometimes too many to remember, it takes good quality photos in daylight, the flash is good, autofocus works well in light, not so good in the dark. It’s a good camera, if you want a point and shoot with great zoom qualities, this is for you.

Panasonic DC-FZ82EB-K 60x Optical Zoom Lumix...
been looking for a camera for a long time and did not want to carry a lot of lens about so after reading the reviews and about the camera i chose this one i wanted a camera with a good lens, time lapse and good make,i got the camera and put the batteries in to charge it,to charge it it comes with a cable and plug, this is the problem putting the cable in the camera was difficult but i managed it after a few attempts and left it to charge and ordered a charger and spare battery so i do not have to plug it in to the mains so that should solve that problem, after a few hours the battery was charged and i tried it out, very impressed with the zoom bit noisey zooming in and out but that's not a problem with most cameras i have had they are all the same,i tried most of the filters some had trouble focusing on the subject but seem to take the picture anyway and the results were good,i have not tried out all it can do as there is some mutch,i used the video which was alright,i dont do much videoing so i probably will not use it mutch, the time lapse was good, and the close focus worked great.i seemed to end up with a lot of pictures beeing videos even though i never pressed the video button so have to see what i am doing wrong, the lens cover drops off now and again so i will have to get a filter to protect the lens, the camera feels light and all the buttons are handy but will take a bit of time to know what they all do,i like the viewfinder and use it more than the screen.you can sort or retouch the pictures on the camera but i prefer to put them on the computer ,you can even download them to your phone through wifi with an app which i dont think i will try, there is no gps which people say is a down side but i have that on my compact camera and never used it as it drains the battery ,you can shoot in raw as well and take a picture in both at the same time, there is so much it can do i cannot try them all. it comes with a manual in english but its better to download it and read it on the computer if like me the print is to small to read if you're looking for a camera with a good zoom, time lapse, and other extras this is just right.,
