It needs to be plugged directly into a laptop, cannot plug into an external port.Aside from that it works as expected.

Worked fine on an HP with Windows 11. No support for Mac OS updates. I actually purchased this one because it claimed to both Windows and Mac compatible. No so.

The product did not meet my expectations and it was not compatible with my laptop so I requested a refund. I was asked to return the product first which I did. I do NOT appreciate the seller taking it among themselves to refund MY MONEY to an Amazon gift card! If I use my debit card to purchase something and request a refund, I expect my refund to go to me in the same manner in which I purchased it, on my debit card! I consider that stealing because what if I never planned to use Amazon again? What is that refund via gift card going to do for me? Yal be careful before you purchase from some of these sellers! They out here being mediocre!

In the photo, I pulled out an old monitor to show that it works with a monitor from 2012 (on the left). I replaced the VGA cable with one that has an HDMI connection on the other end.This is going to be a fair review to give you two scenarios to think about for your situation. Overall, this is a great product, and if your computer does not have any restrictions, this should fit the bill for you nicely. It works flawlessly and connects quickly.There is one (tiny) catch that may want to think about: If you plan to extend your displays and you have a company computer and work from home or have a hybrid work environment, this may not work for you if you.Which is what happened to me. I read that it does need a driver, but I ordered it anyway for two reasons. First, I figured I can still use it on my personal computer. And second, because if a device is not truly plug and play and requires a driver, usually devices would default to a generic driver already in the Windows system. In my case, the generic driver was not detected on my work computer.However, on my personal computer, this worked flawlessly, and I was able to use this without downloading any drivers. Your experience may vary. So be prepared to download a driver, which is an easy process.Originally I wrote, "It connects very quicly. Monitor #2 is 4K, while monitor #3 is 2K, meaning in total, this is a 6K HDMI splitter/display extention. Which is fine for what I need it for. If you need simething more robust, you may need to fork out the extra money and find an 8K display extention."However, after I put my old relic away and plugged in my other, regular, monitor again, both were showing 4K. I should've thought of that when I first wrote the review. That oversight is on me. It still connects very quickly and when you plug in the adapter, it did not give me a screen sputter that some splitters give you.All in all, this is a great product, is solidly built, and would work for most situations. Keep in mind that you may need to download their driver if it does not work out of the box for you. They make it easy and clear how to download it.I will keep this product and use it for my personal computer and I will continue to search for a true plug and play adapter for my work computer. And I recommend this for anyone needing to extend their displays.

This product is working as expected, I have connected 3 monitors through the laptop and J5Create 365 model is working like charm.
