Blackmoor 69029 2-Piece Santoku Knife & Chef’s Knife Set/Stainless Steel Design/Ergonomic Pakkawood Handles/Modern & Stylish Kitchen Knives

I've been using a ceramic santoku for over a decade and I'm very much converted back to steel after using this knife. It's a substantial knife with a very sturdy grip so it's not as nimble to use as ceramic, but it makes up for that in it's ability to slice through many foodstuffs a ceramic risks chipping on.

Great sharpness and quality but I wonder if my knives had been returned due to the double seal as shown in the image 1?Small imperfections on the blade but I chose to wash and keep them. See image 2Bear in mind you can't dishwasher them must be hand wash only.Also I wish there were guards in the box as they are sharp knives that won't fit in the usual cutlery tray of a draw because of their size hence you put them on the side. But in a rush you reach into the draw not paying attention you could cut yourself badly.

The 2 knives come in a plain presentation box. The weight of each of them is more than your average knife and feel firm in the hand when in use. The handles are made of wood topped with a metal cap and have a good grip.The blades are thick and are very sharp out of the box, cutting through meat, vegetable and fish with ease. They initially come with a plastic sleeve and a hard plastic cover for the point, but I’m not sure that these will last long when constantly removing and inserting the knives.It’s obviously necessary to keep the blades sharp as like all knives need to be sharpened. Keeping these knives sharp will give you years of service as they seem solid enough to last that long.

Value for money. Knives look and feel comfortable to use and more importantly are very sharp.

This pair of knives came in a beautiful package with the knives safely cocooned inside precision cuts out inside a cardboard box that was then wrapped in a nicely designed cardboard sleeve.on opening the box, you're presented with two knives each of which has an extremely comfortable wooden handle and each of which is incredibly sharp. I am in the the throes of getting in my autumn crop of tomatoes, and there's always one or two that I miss when doing my daily harvest, resulting in a constant abundanc of over-ripe tomatoes. These knives were each able to take even width slivers off these soft tomatoes, so thin that you can see through the slivers, and without any squashing of the tomato - that's a really tough test, and it was passed with flying colours.I did get this for passing along to my chef son-in-law as a gift, and the presentation makes them ideal for that. Unfortunately for him, the look, feel, and performace of the knives means that they're not going anywhere - they're in my kitchen and that's where they are staying!
