Works finewith the Nest

Was having a battery issue with my nest. The nearest outlet I had was on top of my kitchen cabinets. I had to run the 25" wire through one wall of the hallway closet which was adjacent to the kitchen to come out the back of the nest on the other side of the closet. The supplied clips made the job neater. The instructions that came with this unit were fine. With the nest the holes for the wires are very tight and I had to place one of the wires that came with this unit into the RC first. Then I, with the help of a needle nose plyer was able to get the wall wife back into the RC. The other wire from this unit goes into the C. Now I have no power issue with the Nest.

Easily adds Common “C wire” to smart home device

Used to add a c wire to my nest thermostat. Ran cord into basement and plugged into outlet out of the way. Much easier and less expensive than converting for actual c wire.

Worked.

Better than transformer..

Seems to work, but not with Nest 2020

This requires a C terminal and an RC terminal. The Nest 2020 does not have the RC terminal.

Works great with ecobee4

My dad found this 24 volt adaptor for me and I knew immediately that this was what I needed to complete my ecobee4 installation. It's worth noting that if you purchase this adaptor you should not need to use the pek (power extension kit) that comes with the ecobee unit. This simplifies the installation greatly. I just plugged this into the outlet in our laundry room. It is a 110v outlet that already had the washing machine plugged in to it, but there are no complications with both plugged in together fyi. Then I just ran the adaptor wires through the wall. At this point I installed the adaptor wires into the new ecobee thermostat just like the picture shows here on amazon if you scroll through the pics up top. So I plugged in one adaptor wire into rc and the other adaptor wire into c. Now all I had to do was plug in my existing thermostat wires into their corresponding terminals. My old thermostat had rh, g, w, y, with a jumper between rc and rh. Now at this point I turned the breakers back on and the ecobee fired up and I went through the ecobee setup only to find out that the ac would not turn on(only the heat worked). So what I had to do was make a jumper wire from rc to rh just like my old thermostat in order for the new thermostat to work correctly. The reason a jumper was needed in my case was without a jumper the thermostat was telling the adaptor that was plugged into the rc terminal to turn on the AC and of course the adaptor has no cooling capabilities, lol. I will include a picture of the ecobee after the jumper wire was installed. Also a note on the picture. I had a blue thermostat wire that I confirmed was not connected anywhere in my system that I snipped off a piece of that to make the new jumper wire. If you do something like that, be sure that it is not connected anywhere. I sincerely hope this helps someone with their ecobee4 install. Good luck! Highly recommend this adaptor.

Works (so far) on my Ecobee3 Lite thermostat

Bought this to power an Ecobee3 lite thermostat. I have an older 2-wire boiler system and had bought a Nest-e thermostat last year for one of my zones. Bought a 2nd nest this year for an upstairs zone, however, that zone had a newer furnace relay which was putting out too much voltage through the thermostat wires, causing the thermostat to heat up. Had to come up with a solution to add a C-wire. This was it. Bought the Ecobee instead of the Nest because the Nest didn't have the proper connections. The one fault with this power supply is the wiring. It appears to be 20ga stranded wire - too thin for most thermostat connections. I cut the wire and soldered 18/2 thermostat wire to it, and used that to connect to the thermostat. If you do this, take the time to do it right and make a solder connection rather than just a crimp connection. I then used crimp connections over the soldered areas and then taped it all up. Must have a good connection because my new Ecobee fired up ok - so far so good. It would be nice if they are advertising this for thermostat applications if they would use heavier gage wire on it - thus my 4 star rating instead of 5. I connected my thermostat/furnace wires to the Rh and W1 connections and the power supply wires from this transformer to the Rc and C connections. Ecobee had offered several other alternative to add a C-wire to a boiler system that were a lot more complex than this option. This was the easy fix

Nice save

Wanted to switch out a simple thermostat with a modern one but the furnace is also simple so did not have a power wire so put this unit in place and it allows the furnace to work with a modern thermostat. Be sure to zip tie the plug onto the outlet so the cat does not unplug it when they rum themselves on it.

AC/AC ADAPTER

The product turned out to be too powerful for our 30 year old front door bell system..... when we tried to connect our Nest door bell with this AC/AC Adapter it keep ringing the front door chime on a on-going basis so we are returning this product.......we found a less powerful adapter 10-30VA NOT 60VA as supplied

Perfect for this application

Used to power a Lux Pro WiFi thermostat. This has a low profile so does not stick out much, has a very long wire that easily reached the thermostat and has been working well for months now.
