Product fried first time I applied 18 volts to it.

Exactly what you need in a boost converter.
I tested this boost converter with a bench power supply, and was able to get the rated outputs with no problem. I also tested whether it would hold an output over a range of inputs, and was able to maintain an output of 25 +/- 0.5 with inputs ranging from 5-25V. If you have never used a boost converter, be aware that you are sacrificing current for voltage. That means that if you have a high current draw, it will most likely trip fuses on the input side or simply not work at all. If you know your application, however, there is no issue. It does not have terminal blocks, so you will have to solder inputs/outputs
