don't belive the haters
So far the 2 PNY brand ssd's which i have are working as intended. I have the 120g SSD for my OS and a 1TB ssd for my games and programs.People complain about the computer not recognizing the SSD - for mine all i had to do on my HP was to enter bios and confirm the SSD was plugged in and powered. Once i checked bios i did a hard restart of the computer and i was able to initialize the drive and format it with windows disk manager so i could start using it. if a person shuts down their PC installs the drive and then powers on to find their OS does not see the drive connected it might be because the shut down button is actually a "quick start" shut down which pre loads certain elements of the OS that may cause the new drive to not be seen. so doing a "restart" could relive this issue.People complaining about the short life span of their PNY drive. As with all SSD's each brand has a limit on its writing capability, so for normal people the life span of this brand should not be a problem, who are going to install games, music, pictures, programs, and use the system normally and then replace their computer after 3-8 years their should be no problems with the life span of the ssd- if your using the SSD for an industrial purpose, or in a server, or maybe video or c.a.d production type usages, or some type of work that has you saving and deleting 1000's of files a day then this SSD is not for you, maybe go with a more expensive brand

Highly recommended
I bought it when it was a deal of the day for $30+. I have been tracking 120+ Gb SSDs for a number of months and the other well reviewed one was the Silicon Power for around the same price. Since PNY seems the better brand and has a lot of good reviews I decided to buy this one instead. I was not disappointed. It replaced a 5400 rpm hard disk which was so slow and made a lot of noise. It came with a licensed copy of Acronis cloning software. Acronis is no big deal compared even to some of the free cloning software out there (EaseUS or Macrium) which have more user friendly interfaces. In Acronis you have to look around the options to find what you want. For example I wanted to look for initializing the SSD in either MBR or GPT, I had to look around for the option. I suggest you familiarize yourself a little with the software first before you start the actual cloning process. I made sure I cleaned and backed up whatever I don't need cloned on my old hard disk and reduced the size down to around 60+ Gb before I started the cloning process. From initializing the SSD to full cloning took around 20 minutes. After that I swapped out the old drive with the newly cloned SSD. Turned on the laptop and it worked seamlessly. My laptop bios was already set to AHCI, which is more efficient and faster for SSDs. Boot time from the spinning dots, when windows 10 is loading, to my login screen took about 10 seconds. Incidentally, a few days later I got an update from Microsoft for windows 10 version 1803. I have 2 laptops - the other is still using a 5400 rpm hard drive. Both have similar hardware configurations. I updated both at the same time. The one with the new SSD completed the 1803 update significantly faster than the laptop with the old drive.Overall, I am extremely pleased with the purchase. I highly recommend this drive.

Perfect for my secondary drive and at the right price
I caught this as an Amazon gold box deal of the day and purchased it for $32.00 which I felt was a bargain. A powerful little drive that works as advertised - boot up time in Microsoft Windows 10 Pro went from 2 minutes to around 30 seconds which is a huge difference from booting from a SATA or IDE drive and it was real easy to install. But this SSD drive was an addition to the speed factor as I have a pair of G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB RAM with the addition of a affordable EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC with 4GB GDDR5 RAM Graphics Card. So my computer has sped up greatly with the addition of this SSD. You may need a mounting plate for this SSD if your computer case is not screw-less since it does not come with one. An excellent mounting kit is the Inateck 2x2.5 Inch SSD to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit Bracket since it can hold 2 SSD drives and comes with everything included such as SATA Data Cables and Power Cables to complete your SSD drive installation.I also have a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD drive but I purchased the PNY CS900 240GB 2.5" Sata III Internal SSD Drive since it was over half the price of the Samsung SSD and I could use it as a backup drive. Also I did a speed read / write test with Crystal Disk Mark 6.0 and the write speed was about 250 MB/s with a brief peak near 400MB/s and read speed was about 425MB/s.Hope this helps someone - have an awesome life.
