I love this shampoo!
I developed scalp line psoriasis on the back of my head about ten years ago. Until about two months ago, it wasn’t that bad so I treated it with Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo and Dermarest Psoriasis shampoo. In addition, I knew that coffee, pepsi, and chocolate seemed to cause more intense itching, so I stayed away from them most of the time. However in August, the psoriasis developed fairly intensely behind the ears. I knew it was time to try to do something more.My first step in October was to read the book by John O. A. Pagano titled Healing Psoriasis. I followed the diet (no…. - red meat, sugar, flour, caffeine, soda, chocolate, peppers, paprika, vinegar (except apple cider vinegar), white rice, strawberries, alcohol, etc). In addition, I drank Slippery Elm tea in the morning and tried to increase my water intake to eight glasses daily. This diet helped tremendously and would have probably cured it had I given it time, but I got impatient. This week, my next step was to try the Coal Tar Psoriasis Shampoo Psoriatrax. The first time I used it, I felt the wonderful burn which seemed to indicate it was working. I shook the Psoriatrax bottle well before putting it on where my psoriasis lesions were located (scalp line and behind ears), then left it in my hair for at least five minutes. And for good measures, I followed it with Dermarest shampoo and left that on for a couple of minutes. Then I shampoo’d the rest of my hair with my normal shampoo and conditioner. (Normally I shampoo my hair every other day, but this week, I have done it daily.)In addition, my dermatologists had given me a prescription for Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution (.05%). Previously I never used it since I am not a fan of steroids, but decided this week to add it to the regiment. I squirted it on at bedtime and slept in it. (NOTE: - The directions for this product indicate to never use a prescription drug at the same time, so I used it for only five days.)After five days, my psoriasis lesions on my scalp have disappeared or shrank drastically. Behind my ears are smooth. I have been able to go all day without the need to scratch. It is a wonderful feeling. My plan is to stop the Psoriatrax/Dermarest/Clobetasol regiment now. I will switch to the Psoriatrax daily and to eat the Healing Psoriasis diet to see if those two things keep my psoriasis in check. If that is successful, I will try to stretch out the use of Psoriatrax to every other day. I will give an update next month.**Update (February 11, 2020) - I wrote the above in December, 2019. I used the Psoriatrax every other day until the end of December when I had some kind of allergic reaction to something. I didn't think it was the shampoo, but I stopped using it to try to isolate what my body was having a problem with. However, I continued on with the Healing Psoriasis diet found in the John O. A. Pagano book. (I did have some slip-ups during the holidays, but did about 95% on and 5% off the diet for a couple of weeks.) My psoriasis continue to clear up. Mid January, I went back to using the Psoriatrax, but just on the only lesion that was still on my scalp. In retrospect, I think the Psoriatrax shampoo is a way to jump start the healing and control the itch, but I think if you want to clear up the psoriasis, the Healing Psoriasis diet is the best way to go.(NOTE: - If you decide to try the Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution, make sure to NEVER get it on your face as it is possible to develop steroid-induced dermatitis. And I would suggest you don't use it for long since it thins the skin.)

A True Miricale that heals Seborrheic Dermatitis "Hair Snow" and Contact Dermatitis!
When my youngest brother came to me with large flakes in his hair no matter how much he washed it, red patches he was hiding along his hairline with his longer hair no matter how much conditioner he used, and not understanding the snow his scalp was making I knew exactly what it was and the cure thanks to my own experience and my mom finding the magical healing of coal tar years ago. He had what is known as Seborrheic Dermatitis.I remembered my own ordeal of making it snow in the heat of sunny summer days as a child. The odd sizable snowflakes drifted from my long strawberry blond hair with no warning and oh the itching that came with it was anything but magical! My mom tried every dandruff shampoo available at the time until the local pharmacist told her coal tar was the only treatment and cure for my very bad case of Seborrheic Dermatitis. She found one with the most coal tar she could get at the local pharmacy at the time and I remember the refreshing, herbal, fragrant, earthy scent that was so reminiscent of the breezes after a long rain that I loved. I also loved how the itching stopped within a week of use and within a month my magical yet embarrassing ability to make it snow in summer was gone. In its place was beautiful shiny long hair with the best scent. My mom would have to hide my coal tar shampoo because my dad who didn’t need its healing medicine loved the scent so much he would constantly use it.Looking back on all of this I knew I had to get my brother some of the same coal tar shampoo with a high percent of coal tar, but sadly they had stopped making it! I went on an internet treasure hunt for the best coal tar shampoo with mixed results, so I called my mom. When I told her about his “snowing hair” she said, “Just find one with as much coal tar as you can,” so with that advice I found this amazing coal tar shampoo from Psoriatrax. As soon as it arrived, and I opened it the magical herbal scent let me know I had found a product as good as my mom had found years ago before coal tar shampoos started using less and less of this super ingredient. Not only did Psoriatrax shampoo completely stop his Seborrheic Dermatitis but it also healed his contact dermatitis by running down as he rinsed it out of his hair that he has been treating with one failed prescription cream after another that had affected his arms and chest over the past three years. His hair and skin is now clear, perfect, glowing, and best of all completely snow free!Thank you Psoriatrax and please never stop making this amazing shampoo! Please rate my review as "Helpful" if it helped you :) I like to read reviews before buying and return the favor, so when I find a great product or a bad one I enjoy sharing my experiences, because I like many of you rely on reviews before purchase :)

Only thing that works
My husband uses this, and he is fussy. He has had doctor prescriptions, etc. that have not worked. I knew a person that used a product containing Coal Tar, so I looked for a product with as much Coal Tar as I could get. Important to say that he has salt and pepper hair. I tried it, and I have white hair, and had to quit it because my hair was turning green. Coal Tar stains, but it does the job on psoriasis!

It Works
Been using this every other day for the last few weeks and it got rid of the flaking after the first use and most of the inching is gone but not all of it particularly in a couple of areas but its reduced the smell doesn't bother me at all I don't find it unpleasant and I've got to admit that this stuff works pretty well I'd recommend it.

Good stuff for my purposes!
I wish this would come back. It's hard to find as it is. This stuff is good for about three days of relief from thicker psoraisis build up when so combine with my regular heavy dandruff shampoo it works wonders really. Don't need to use a lot. But I'd like to restock!!

not worth the money, didn't work.
I have been using coal tar shampoo for a while now to help with my scalp psoriasis-although no shampoo is going to cure it I have had great success with another brand-I saw this brand, read the reviews and thought I'd give it a try. To my dismay this stuff didn't help my scalp psoriasis one bit, it left my hair flat & greasy looking as well as leaving my hair with a terrible smell. I washed my hair and quickly left the house only to get comments about how bad my hair smelled until it dried about an hour later-then it dried all flat...wth? I'm not at all pleased with this product and plan to go back to using what I was using.
