Capsules, and they are a reddish color because of the beets.They’re somewhat large, but I’ve been able to take them with food and it’s not a problem. I haven’t noticed any effects, but this probably isn’t something you notice a huge change with unless you’re very deficient or you get your blood tested regularly.My mom and I both have low iron (both of us have been turned down from donating blood/plasma because of it), and I have ridiculous cycles (tmi, lots of heavy bleeding, for possibly months straight due to PCOS) so iron is good to take, just to prevent issues of low iron affecting my health during that time.It's really important to talk to a doctor for this kind of supplement, because it can be dangerous to take too much iron.I have no complaints.
