Don't go through winter without these
I love these. We've had weeks of ice and I wouldn't have made it through without these. They work best on a heavy duty boot rather than a sneaker/running shoe.I put them on a pair of work boots dedicated for winter work and leave them on.Priceless when you shoveling or snow blowing. The only negative is the chains on the bottom are not tight to the tread, they hang a little. But it doesn't impair their use at all.You can't wear them indoors - you'll mark up your floor if you don't slip and fall first.

Works Great - Limited Life
I'm on my 5th or 6th pair of Yaktraks. I've purchased both the steel coils and the chains. I much prefer the chains. They really do a great job of gripping in even very icy conditions. They are an absolute must-have for winter conditions in my area.I rated these as a 5-star, but with one caveat: they will only last about two winters with regular/heavy use. The chain links will eventually break or the rivets will pull out of the rubber. They just don't last very long.

Excellent traction.
I've always loved Yak Traks. The coil style rust out in a season. This type lasted 2&1/2 seasons. Great stable footing. I highly recommend.

Good non aggressive traction
These are good for situations where I just need a little traction. For some reason they are kind of hard to position--maybe I am between sizes

Slip free walking!
The stainless steel chains cut into the ice and packed snow. No slipping on the miles long walks on splotchy-iced sidewalks, smooth frozen puddles, packed snow or partially thawed areas. After the 15 miles I put on them so far, the stainless steel chains show no signs of crushing, abrasion or wear.

These are so easy to put on and have literally saved me during this very icy winter!

Even Better Than the Old Yaktrax
These are superior to the old style. My old Yaktrax had the springs laying sideways across the bottom of the shoes with the strips of rubber running through the center of them, the strips of rubber being of one piece with the rubber of the upper portion that wraps up around the heel and toe.On the old ones, the springs would wear rapidly and develop sharp edges that would cut through the rubber and render them out of service. This new style has all metal chains running across the bottom of the shoe while the rubber wraps up on the heel and toe to keep them secure. They give me great traction and have held up very well so far.Note: I am only size 7.5 but had to size up to large as the rubber is so tight on the mediums that they pulled my forefeet up and bent them back so harshly as to make them miserable on my feet and I could not bear to wear them at all!The large size still grabs and secures nicely without fighting to get them on, too!
